Oh i'm sorry. I got it all wrong, but you're right: Carroll is a footballing prodigy whose talent is so extraordinary, all the big clubs are talking about him yet our coach just doesn't play him for some reason in any important game... why?
Lloris - 6 - Great strike for the second goal but I think he should perhaps do better.
Walker - 8 - Again, he was our best defender by a country mile, defensively and offensively (which highlights our main problem at the moment).
Dawson - 4 - Sunday League defending at times, utterly abysmal. Shambolic diving in at times near the end, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Verts - 5 - Yet again caught out defensively on both goals, single-handily costing us points at the moment.
Naughton - 5 - Should never have let their guy come inside for their second, but Jan should have been closer to him though. No attacking presence whatsoever.
Hudd - 8 - MOTM. The only player who looked like he could do something noteworthy from an attacking point of view, best player on the pitch in my opinion.
Parker - 5 - Full of effort but lacks quality in the final third. But why are we relying on him for creativity?
Dembele - 5 - Poor before he went off, looks absolutely exhausted.
Dempsey - 4 - Was he even on the pitch?
Bale - 5 - Did nothing all game, nowhere near good enough
Defoe - 6 - Adebayor-like, he was provided no real opportunites except for ones he fashioned himself. Probably should have scored. Looked lively when he had the ball though I thought.
Subs
Holtby - 5 - Headless chicken, over commits himself every time when pressing. Did nothing from an attacking perspective either. Had a big opportunity to stake a claim and yet again failed to do so.
BAE - 6 - Should never have been dropped, had no impact on this game though when he came on.
Lennon - 6 - Did nothing when he came on, but did have the odd moment which we previously hadn't had in the opening 70 minutes.
AVB - 4 - got the shape and team selection wrong. 4-3-3 with a right footed left back is plain stupid - incomprehensible even.
