Friedel 6.5 - a couple of decent saves but looked shaky at times.
Walker 7.5 - much improved defensively for me, particularly later on. Just needs more game time this one.
King 7 - solid as a rock.
Kaboul 7 - looks more assured with King next to him, thought he was solid too
BAE 7.5 - another great game. Some good tackles and very calm on the ball.
Krancjar 6.5 - solid enough, a few nice touches but really needs to work out his positional sense a little I feel.
Parker 7 - solid start and some good tackles. Thought he looked a bit slow at times and made some sloppy passes, but will improve as he gets to know the team.
Modric 7 - understated but still buzzing around and getting involved in everything.
Bale 6 - not looked at his best for a while, and is obviously targeted for tight marking. He'll come good again.
Defoe 7 - thought he looked sharp and linked up well with Ade. Scored a goal, what more do you want?
Adebayor 7.5 - great debut and grew in confidence as the game went on. Linked play well - looking forward to seeing him fully fit!

Sadly I can't give any ratings so if anyone who saw it all can give a quick summary of everyone's perfrmances I will pay them.....nothing.

But I may give you rep.

Missed the first 25 minutes but anyway ...

Friedel - Not a great deal to do, held onto a shot from O'Hara, sticks to his line religiously though which can put us under pressure

Walker - Decent. Shown up by Doyle once in the first half and took a booking, after that he was fine defensively, supported our attacks rather than going beyond

Kaboul - Solid

King - As above

Ekotto - His usual self, one crazy Benny moment where he cleared a ball inside their half and managed to almost put Fletcher through at our end. Other than that was good

Bale - Ineffective on the right, not a great deal better when moved to the left either really. Wasn't great but he made some good central runs to help join Ade and Defoe

Parker - Poor first half, a lot of fouls and lost the ball a fair bit, better 2nd half and presses high up the pitch which is nice to see, set up Ade's goal

Modric - Back to his old self

Kranjcar - In and out, good on the ball and set up Jermains goal. Goes missing a fair bit though

Defoe - Wasn't involved a great deal but sealed the win with his goal. Still infuriating at times

Ade - A striker that can move and hold the ball up, Hallelujah. Good debut, good goal. Drifts out wide quite a lot which gives us some nice variation

Livermore and Gio - Not much time and barely touched the ball.

I can't be fucked with ratings but some of you didn't watch the game if your giving Defoe a 5. I actually thought he was one of our best players. IMO he played better than Ade, who also played well, but has a tendency to not chase 50/50 balls, which pisses me off. I'll put that down to fitness.

I disagree: Defoe, though me had the ball a bit and made runs etc, he rarely had any clue how to effetively use the final ball; several times he just shoot when a clever ball would have been a much better solution.

That's the problem with him - he just doesn't have the intelligence to get onto the same wavelength as the rest of the team (and as we've upgraded around him he's really sticking out as the weak link now).

It's doesn't just explain his decision-making on the ball, but his complete lack of movement off it too.

Really Dan  Just one game where the upgrade has played - Defoe still scores yet he's our weak link.

Missed the first 15 mins

Friedel - 6
Walker - 7
Kaboul - 6.5
King - 6.5
BAE - 7
Krankie - 6
Parker - 7
Modric - 8
Bale - 5
Adebayor - 8
Defoe - 7

Thought Ade was excellent considering his match fitness. He has an excellent touch and he's exactly what we've been missing. Modric was excellent too.

Honestly, some people just won't have it any other way with Defoe. You're in the mindset he's shit and you won't see it any other way even when he plays well. He scored a very good goal today. He chased back, he even linked up well with Adebayor a couple of times which lead to goalscoring chances (one of which Bale should've scored) and he almost scored a great goal after winning back the ball from O'Hara. Just because he's not continental in the way he plays and thinks, doesn't mean he ain't good. 'Cos he is.

These 2 could be a very good partnership indeed.

Agree with most of these ratings. Was most concerned with bale. He looked poor and lethargic. Indeed, the whole team felt disjointed to me. Maybe cos of the newcomers?

Missed the first 15 mins or so and was just starting to get frustrated when we scored, but in the end that was an extremely heartening performance.

That was a very new team and after the last two results they must have felt under pressure and lacked a bit of confidence, but once we scored (and indeed even the 10 mins or so before) we grew and grew in belief.

Parker i thought showed a few nervy moments in the first half (trying too hard?), but he demonstrated his quality by just sticking at it and by the time he was substituted I was feeling really satisfied that we got him (I already thought he was a good signing, but i think he could turn into this year's Sandro, but with experience and leadership qualities).

(As an aside on Parker can I just applaud Dan A for giving him good marks, I'm sure Dan won't have changed his opinion based on a single match, nevertheless he was honest enough to give credit where it was due )

On Walker, I have shared many of the same reservations others have as to his defensive qualities, but today was a good game for him (I gave him MoM), he's another who grew in confidence and I was really surprised by his pace; did anyone else notice that moment in the second half when he sprinted from defence with the ball and Bale, ears pinned back, attempted to make the run beside him and despite legs and arms pumping could not out run him? That pace is such a huge asset in a full-back. And ably assisted by Kaboul (another who's performance and confidence grew as the game progressed.), by the end it was simply routine to see him stepping out from RB with the ball at his feet, a couple of Wolves players on the arses.

Of our regulars, BAE had a good game as did King and Modric.

For me Adebayour's showing was the most encouraging of the lot. He was all I'd been oping he would be, the contrast between his hold up play and Crouch's for instance couldn't have been more stark. I also reckon he was more involved in that game, with more passes, touches of the ball etc. than a Pav or Defoe will manage in a season.

Over all a very good performance.

I've just realised Dan took Parker out of his 'out' list? I assume that wasn't based on one performance today, so why the change of heart?

Just out of interest does/did Pavulychenko or Crouch chase 50/50 balls before we start jumping on Ade's back.

Haven't watched the game yet as I was at the Etihad, but all sounds promising.

Can't wait till the next match.

Was not really a game of individual performances, so no one really stuck out.

Friedel 6.5 - made a great save first half

Walker 6.5 - MOTM for me it was his best performance in a spurs shirt, was a bit shaky early on, but after that really impressed me, both in offense and defense.

King 5.5- I love the guy and had a good second half, but made a lot of mistakes in the first half, and struggled in the air. Lucky we did not conceded after a mistake which let Hunt in. Grew into the game however, and ignoring a couple of bad moments of distribution was back to his old self in the second half. His on field influence is also vitaly important.

Kaboul 6.5- like King started slowly, thought he was imperious in the second half however.

BAE 6- hot and cold today, made a lot of errors, which could of been costly, but had some wonderful moments thought the game

Krancjar 5.5- had a terrible first half, where he was a non entity and was sloppy at times (like the whole team actually). Grew into the game however, and was involved with all the goals.

Parker 6.5- Worked his socks off, and made a couple of great tackles and passes all game. Needs to cut out the errors though, and often over did things

Modric 6.5- tidy in the first half, and then grew into the game as it went on, played deeper then usual, but did his job to good effect.

Bale 6 - almost went right for him on a couple of occasions, his crossing was mixed, on one side almost putting Ade on for an easy tap in, not the other putting a cross well into the stands.

Defoe 6.5- had a very good game, scored and moved the ball well, don't think he made a bad decision all game. Did drift in and out a bit though

Adebayor 6.5- clearly a class above the strikers we are used to, did often over complicate things, and his touch let him down on occasions, but really hastes and harried, often helping develop play from deep.

Subs

Livermore 6- not enough time but fitted in seamlessly did quite well

Gio 5.5- again no time, but when he did get the ball it was wasteful and poorly executed.
