In a poll conducted by Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid fans have said they would rather the club sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale over Brazilian superstar Neymar. The two have been the subject of rumours regarding moves away in the summer but it is the Welsh international Real Madrid's supporters would rather see in the Spanish capital next season.

The survey that was put to the public revealed that 93% would like to see Bale arrive in at the La Liga club compared to the 7% which Santos forward Neymar received. The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to La Liga over the past year with both Barcelona and Real Madrid interested in bringing the player over to Spain. However it been reported that Real Madrid may switch their attention to sign Bale in the next transfer window.

The Mirror claimed only last month Real Madrid would be prepared to put in a £60m offer to Tottenham Hotspur and tempt the player with a £10m a year contract. In total the package would come to a staggering £110m to tie the midfielder down to a five deal. With the Premier League side unsure whether they will make the Champions League for next season, the player may want to move to a club which can guarantee qualifying for the competition every year.

With the elections for the Real Madrid presidency just around the corner it looks like either Bale or Neymar will be used to get Florentino Perez another term at the club. The promise of signing a marquee player in the summer is a tactic that has been used frequently over the years and the likelihood is that the two players will be used by Perez. In 2009 Perez used the promise of signing Ronaldo from Manchester United and Kaka from Ac Milan to get him voted in as the new president.

We've mentioned before how the presidential elections will disrupt Bale this summer and with fans doing the voting, their clear desire for Gareth Bale is just going to make that worse.

The more pressure and desperation RM are under to sign Bale, will make it easier for us to bump up the price and hold them to ransom including players in part exchange.

I personally think Bale will be here next year anyway and hope to keep him longer, but accept that one day he may be off to Spain. If we do have to let him go we need to make sure it is for the highest possible fee, so we can reinvest it over all areas of our squad.

Hope Bale signs a new contract to commit to the club. Just give a pay rise and captaincy. He could be a legend here or just another face somewhere else.

he is too young to move a small family abroad, can see him staying with us until he is 26 / 27

If you were a Real Madrid fan, or a fan of any other team in the world, you'd want your club to sign Gareth Bale.

Of course I would but at the same time I'm a Spurs fan and I'm fed up with losing our best players on a regular basis.

All those saying we need to get the highest possible fee, of course that's true, but I'm not sure anyone can be certain the whole lot would be spent on players. And how good would the players be if they're willing to come AFTER the club sell its best and its league's best player? I just think we all need to get away from this attitude that Bale will eventually go, just because that's what happens and that's what Spurs do. No, we need to keep him, show him we are ambitious and that we want to win the league. Levy and the club in general have to break this chain. Otherwise we will only ever be competing where we are now.

of course not, it would go towards the stadium, but without players like Bale would we fill the stadium ?

A recent pole of tottenham fans shows that 99% of tottenham fans wnt to keep bale. Spursking had voted against as he believes the money could be better spent on a one legged african kid called musbau. Who (although he has never played any competitive games ) does own his own boot.

Selling Higuain to Arsenal would be a good way to piss off Daniel Levy, selling him to us for a cut price deal might get them some money off Bale in a few years time though. (y)

It really depends on if Madrid are prepared to pay 60m+

If they come in with a 30m offer then no chance.

Not that I think Levy wants to sell anyway but it will take a strong chairman to reject a 60m bid. Especially as we're trying to finance a new stadium.
