The Pollster missed out the option *None of the Above* so I voted for Hoddle, not that he'll come or be asked, he's turned down 8 managerial jobs apparantly to concentrate on his Academy in Spain.

None of the other choices appealed to me.

Ramos got us into this mess, he has to get us out of it.

Am I the only one that thinks that Spurs Since 57 has a bit more knowledge of the ins and outs of THFC? It all sounds very spurious to me lol.

Where are the ITKs at the moment? Or do they only have info when it comes to transfers?

That's not a bash, just a general question.

I've put this in the other thread without seeing this one, but personally I'd like to see us go for either Stuart Pearce or Gary Johnson. Either would instill a bit of fight in us, get the players working hard, play simple systems to the players' strengths but not at the complete disregard of attractive football.

Cue the 'but Johnson is only manager of Bristol City so he must be shit' comments.

Gary Johnson's not a bad gaffer - I remember watching Cambridge Utd a few times when he was in charge of the Abbey. His career has been pretty decent - bit of MON about him. He's a good guy but not what we will go for.

...and so true

No time to be charming when people go on and does the work for media.

I'm as disapointed as anyone else..........the differnce is that i'm not jumping on "flavour of the week".

Doesn't mean you can abuse other people just because they don't agree with you.

We've had the worst premiership start ever...not just by spurs...by anyone. And you think it's stupid that people are questioning the manager?

He's not what we'll go for but I think he's the sort of character we need.

Abuse other people.....was quite generally speaking....not pointing out anyone. Pretty clear if you read it again.

- About questioning; in this case and right now - Yes. It's so obvious that he's been left with a team without balance. You could almost say we're ok-ish in defence but score less goals than in ages....

Do you think Ramos has been left with the worst squad in the premiership?

Unless you do think that then he's not doing his job properly.

I'm sorry but regardless of whether he's got the strikers or not that squad should not be bottom of the league.

I'm not sure if he should go but if he does go we can't be any more 'totally buggered' than we are at the moment.
If he does go, then the next appointment has to be spot on, otherwise it could get a lot worse. A new director of football would also have to be appointed. It would be a total mess.

I can't see how either of those choses can happen. From Jol to Ramos to Pearce or Johnson, it would make the board look like idiots.

I agree that I can't see our board doing it because it seems, since the summer of 2007, that they are totally taken with the idea that profile is king. It doesn't mean that Johnson or Pearce would be the wrong choice though.

No, I don't, but I do take care to read all the ITK that comes in and am rather less cynical about it than some may think—at least, what's posted by those with a decent track record. So if different ITKs on different boards say similar things, and those things tie in with what actually happens, I'm minded to believe there's a measure of truth in it.

Very early on we were told that Ramos thought very few if any of the squad he inherited were good enough—even Keane and Steed were rated as squad players only. That's been repeated ever since, and this summer's incomings and outgoings would appear to bear it out. The idea that this was down to Levy and Comolli is ludicrous.

On 949 this afternoon Bradley Allen let slip that Ramos and Defoe had had a falling-out. Many, myself included, believed that Ramos took the rap for Levy's decision to flog JD because he wouldn't sign a new contract. Perhaps we were wrong.

That's not a bash, just a general question.

Whatever's happening at the moment will go no further than the boardroom until someone gives the OK to leak it. Moves to oust Jol and replace him with Ramos were in progress well before the start of last season, but we didn't hear a whisper until BEN and Dragon1 posted info clearly intended as character assassination after Ramosgate. Archibald on SO did post that all the big kahunas were off to Spain but said no-one would tell him what was going on. At the time, everyone (including Archie himself, I imagine) assumed it was to do with a big-name player.

Ah, the short/selective memory syndrome.

At this stage two years ago we'd also scored four goals—one each from Berbatov, Jenas, Murphy, and a penalty from Defoe. We'd also let in, er, nine. Of course, we did have five more points, and that seemed bad at the time.

So the awesome strike force whose departure you're constantly bemoaning had managed one goal from open play, despite having umpteen chances. What's more, we'd only added one more—from Mido—by the end of November. From memory, Keane had sixteen goal attempts and one penalty by the time he was injured, and Berbatov and Defoe were no better. So that excuse won't wash, I'm afraid.

Yes, we do have an unbalanced team, but whose fault is that? Who wanted a mass clear-out?

While Ramos has no chance of pulling us out of this tailspin, I think the issue here is the DoF. Ramos was doomed from the start by an absolute shocking lack of talent on this squad. I know we all want to think our team is talented and capable of great things. But in all honesty, the shit is hitting the fan, and we have had 4 or 5 players of quality since Comolli started. Three were sold and never replaced even adequately, one is crocked and has been here forever, and the fifth (Woody) looks like he wants out (imo). The rest is absolute average to below average players and many positions don't even have one player. This team is going to be relegated, because no matter if Ramos is a good manager or not, we have less talent than anyone save possibly Stoke. And on top of that, we do not have a cohesive team. But Levy and Comolli won't pay for this. We will.
