Football has moved on <DELETED>
Agents own the Players

Shareholders, Sponsors, Investors, Sheiks and Russians own our football clubs - Fans dont
  • Fans are one of MANY revenue streams for the clubs
  • Owners make decisions, Fans dont
  • Owners and Agents determine where a player plays
  • Fans dont make club policy
Football is a business and is about the bottom line. Fans are not the priority anymore.

This is not such a bad thing, we just need to re-adjust where we see ourselves in the bigger picture....

Where I see myself in this unstoppable, 'bigger picture', all-conquering drive to modernity and perfection and footballing nirvana:

Not paying exorbitant fees and emotionally draining myself for a diluted corporate day out to line the pockets of people who wouldnt piss on you if you were on fire.

Cant wait!

If you're from Stotfold, why is your username Sttofold.

That's the real issue I need to have answers for

But coming to your opening post, what's changed.

Fans never made club policy. Or at least the ones that mattered.

Owners always made decisions, some of them fucking shit ones. Probably because they were also fans.

Without fans, the bulk of the other revenue streams dry up. No fans, no merchandising income, reduced TV revenue, reduced sponsorship. Otherwise Barnet FC would have a £120m a year turnover.

I just don't see what has changed so radically.

But welcome to the Board

I would argue that fans are the only revenue for a club. We are basically customers, without customers there will be no TV, no sponsorship nothing. If you are talking about those fans who go to games then last year they made £27m for the club. Not to be sniffed at but Man Utd and Arsenal made £100m each a big percentage of turnover. (£63m a year we are missing out on, can see why a new stadium will help).

We better be.

The billionaires can jizz over how much they've spent to make themselves look big, but if people don't turn up to watch the game, then there is no game.

No fans, no football.

Or, more particularly, no supporters, no football.

I think that qualifies as a fact, but it may simply be analytically true, in which case it may not be a fact at all. FACT.

No I am sorry you are missing the point here.

If us 'fans' think we can manipulate the direction and decisions of football clubs then we are misguided.

Fans/customer whatever you class the people who walk through the door are disposable to a certain extent.

Success will always bring in revenue and 'new' customers.

You are only a valid and tangible asset when your bum is in the seat, but dont be deluded and think another bum wont fill that seat if your not there....

The Barnet scenario is not applicable due to not tickign the boxes:

Success
Finance
History
Players
All this equates to increased fan base.

 I don't know why but it is one of my pet hates FACT!

'end of' is much worse, I always imagine some fake bling covered chav/pikey, with bazooka joa tattoos sat there wearing his baseball cap back to front

End of. Bruvver.

Regarding baseball caps... worse still is the kids who precariously place the baseball caps on the top of their heads, as if they're too cool to pull the fucking baseball cap fully on to their heads.

End of. Fact. "Period" as they'd say in America, but why do they have to bring in a woman's time of the month to proceedings? Things are messy enough as it is...
