You answered the question: You are referring to the Keane that cannot get a place on the pitch, let alone the bench, and HR has suggested should look at leaving.

There is a reason for that...Keane has been pretty poor . Are you saying that Elmander is in the same bracket at the moment?...because his form doesn't suggest he is...

Why are we assuming Elmander would want to leave Bolton? He's struck up a very good partnership with Davies and seems to be enjoying his football. No way he would leave them in January.

I am pretty sure he has spoken about moving to a bigger club-I remember the crew on Soccer Saturday talking about it a few weeks ago.

And is he better than Crouch, Defoe and Pavlyuchenko?

Yes. He is better than Pavlyuchenko in all aspects except perhaps shooting and a more well rounded footballer than Crouch (altough not a replacement as Elmander's strenghts are working the channels, not holding the ball up).

I think Elmander is stronger than all our strikers except for Defoe who he is probably on par with (once again, in different ways). I don't however consider him to be a big enough improvement that we should be looking to bring him in. We need a VdV-quality striker, Elmander is not that.

He won't be joining a team where he is third or fourth choice either I would think. He has a history of signing for smaller teams (Bröndby, Toulouse and Bolton) to be guaranteed alot of playing time.

We need a first choice striker of the highest quality to replace anyone of the three we currently have and we need a young promising striker to replace Keane.

Elmander is a good player but not one we should be looking at bringing in.

adebayor-proven in premier league and exactly what we need. dont think Harry is all that keen and city definately are not

suarez- not physical enough. been there before, rejected our bid. He wants out and they would sell i reckon

llorente. yes please. big strong. might not score enough goals. or the hussle of the premier league might actually assist him in scoring more goals. Has obvious class

cardozo from benfica. We have watched him for so long. They have always asked for too much money, and maybe the this one has expired

bojan on loan
is he available?

Nah - I answered your question.

He is in the same bracket as Keane. Not an improvement.

He most definitely would be an improvement, he's scoring goals and has played a big part in Bolton's success this season. Keane is nowhere in the football world at the moment and is looking a spent force.

Not sure why thats a tough concept to grasp - infact its piss easy.

You make some good points, I would be all for Elmander if we fail to sign a top notch CF. However he wouldn't be a guranteed starter so I suppose that would throw a spanner in the works.

That being said if he took his chance he would be rewarded with starting regularly.

So Elmander is the secret? A player from Bolton? FFS, total crap.

The secret? He would improve our striking options if Keane, for example, is moved on.

Whats so hard to understand? No one is saying that he's the next striking sensation.

Top 4 this season is bloody important, if we cant get a top CF we should make a few improvements if we get the chance, particularly if the risk is low regarding figures.

The alternative is we stick with what we have, Which isn't bad anyway.
Nor is it very good. We clearly have excellent players in many parts of the pitch, but with a top class striker i think we could become a very scary team indeed.

Nilmar is a very good player as well but I think he should stay in Spain, the EPL is not for him imo.

I agree.

Milito might not be so unrealistic, he's had a very poor season at Inter so far.

Not sure he's ever been that good apart from when made the focal point at Inter under Jose. If we do the same for him at Spurs then he could be worth a shot.

What do people on here thunk of Hulk? Strong, quick. How's he doing this season?

A very good option IMO. He's got what it takes to compete physically in the prem and has a bit of flair and quality about him too. At the right age and would settle well with Gomes and Sandro in the team already.

He seems to be hitting a really successful patch at Porto right now, with 13 goals in 13 league games for Porto this season and a similar return in Europe too.

I think now is the right time to buy him, realistically we could get him for £16-20m whereas he'll more like £23-28m in the summer if he continues this form.

For me he is the best choice striker right now for us.

Oh yes please. Love Klose.

5 years ago i'd have said yes, but he's just too old to cut it in the prem these days.

Id be happy to sign Elmander to sit on the bench. But we ahve a chance to win the league here. We should set our sights a little higher.
