To put this in perspective:

From FTL via COYS:

So...straight up...do you think we should finish in the top 4?

Because that is ultimately how we should judge Harry surely?

Not a question of whether we should but a question of whether we give the appearance of making a decent attempt. Redknapp's last 20-odd games suggest we are declining rather than improving and the decent performances are despite Redknapp rather than dud to him.

On the question of taking the team as far as it can he bought many of the players, didn't he? always looking at the short term is Redknapp.

Given redknapp has been whoring himself for the England job for over a year and will in all likelihood get it this summer, there is no logical reason why he would be thinking of what's good for Spurs beyond May 2012.

Levy won't change the Manager now. Anyone coming in would have no time to shape the squad in his own eye. The earliest opportunity now will be the winter in readiness for the January Window.

Leaving Redknapp in charge until January will be suicide!

IMO a manager not having time to shape the squad is no reason to let this continue. It wouldn't take a quality manager 2 seconds to get the basics right and put the correct players on the team sheet. Unlike what's going on at the moment.

Levy should have replaced him first thing this summer.

Why is he pushing to get rid of so many of the players he recently bought at great expense? That's short termism isn't it?

With regards to his record he hasn't managed to sustain success in the long term at any of his clubs iirc

Normally I think that's sound reasoning, but given the strength of the current team and the fact that the twin difficulties we're facing this window is shifting the dead-wood and seeing off the unwanted advances of a rival PL club, in a way, the best time to get shot of Harry could be after the window.

Right now, with Modric being a twat he'd only need the slightest excuse to properly go on strike. Sacking Redknapp would be that excuse.

As for the deadwood, the moment a new man came in they'd all want to hang around to see if he'll take a shine to them in a way that Redknapp hasn't. Absolutely no chance they'd agree to go to the Stokes and Sunderlands of this world in those circumstances.

Meanwhile our targets are limited as much by what's affordable as anything else, it's not like a new guy is going to come in and identify two or three world class players we'd otherwise failed to realise were available and cheap.

In conclusion, contrary to usual wisdom, due to strange dynamic of this summer, the best time to get rid of Harry may well be after the window has closed.

The window would be closed unless he's replaced now, and even then the new manager wouldn't have chance to enter the market as it closes in 2 days, so effectively that's the only situation now.

Any deadwood destined to leave in the next day or so wouldn't change if a manager came in before the widow closes imo. If it did then we've appointed the wrong manager. Any deadwood remaining at the club will know where they stand by Jan for sure regardless of new manager.

Saying that, I'd like Levy to try to complete a few signings - Parker, Cahill, and Ancelloti. Then announce the signings and takeover just as the window slams shut.

Absolutely. I know this, you know this, and surely Levy Knew this, so he should have binned him after the Birmingham game last season, then got a replacement quickly and then shaped a team that can compete with the likes of City and United.

Instead we have Redknapp who couldn't complete a paint by numbers, never mind shaping a teams playing strategy

What is Redknapp's style, shape, strategy or philosophy, as I'm struggling to work this out.

We have been crap for quite a while now. And I don't care what has been happening during the summer but you should NOT lose 5-1 in your league let alone at home.

We got thrashed. The buck stops with the manager. I have defended him against some of the kneejerkers on this site but yesterday's result was appalling. In football losing is just inevitable sometimes. But we got destroyed.

So far we have played 2 games, scored 1 and conceded 8. Unless the manager can accept responsibility then I do not see the point in him working for the club. If he had held up his hands and said I should not have played 3 playmakers against a rampant City side then I would have accepted it. Instead he blamed a poor pre-season. That seriously pissed me off.

Get Carlo in as DoF and start planning for january, this will cover the possibility of Harry getting sent down in November or when he buggers off to the England job.
Carlo can then slot in to the managers position and then work with a new DoF to get the mutually agreed targets.

And as someone else mention get back the fitness coach that Ramos used as we look like running on empty from 20 minutes in.
