All I ask is that we give a good account of ourselves, talkshowhost.

And today we didn't. That isn't cause for mass panic though is it?

I am pissed off with how we played today. The manager fucked up, the players fucked up and arguably the chairman has fucked up by not sorting the team early enough.

But there is time to sort it out and our current manager has done wonders with our squad before.

I just think it's a bit early for people to be pushing the panic button.

Well my opinion is that Harry did a wonderful job for a while but that we went backwards last season and I reckon the wheels have been off for most of this calendar year, talkshowhost.

Its true, the problems have been mounting since the San Siro.

Just one other thing-I took the players' side before when it all went wrong under Ramos but I won't be as quick to do likewise this time. Disgraceful lack of application from most of them. Two fingers to all the fans who pay through the nose to watch them.

I find it interesting that despite criticising all of our players that alot of people think we have the 4th best squad in the league.

If people think that why are we clamouring for so many transfers?

If people don't think that why are they expecting so much?

To further improve the team/squad and keep everyone on their toes.

The wingers have no real competition and usually play when fit, they show no signs of improving their individual attributes, adding consistency etc and therefore need genuine competition.

And yes, regardless of others improving, we should expect to finish in the top four with the current squad. Liverpool (squad wise) are playing catch up with us and Arsenal are in free fall.

Everything is there to play for but the mentality of the manager is seemingly rubbing off onto the players with the exception of VDV and Gallas.

That performance, whilst not 'Spurs-esque' was tactical perfection and great team selection. Unfortunately, it just seemed to be the exception than the norm which is the most frustrating element for me as it showed we can perform to a high level and be tactically spot on coupled with excellent work rate.

I think this is the key.

Yes we've been shit in the last two games but ultimately we've played probably the two best teams in the country. Decisions shouldn't be made on those two games.

However, if Levy and Redknapp aren't together on targets and Redknapp is having a go at Levy in the press then Levy will have to thnk about what he does...taking into account the various vaguaries (sp?) about when Harry may leave anyway.

My worry is that Levy doesn't trust Harry and thus we haven't spent any money. If that's the case then everyone has fucked up. I'm just hoping that come Thursday I'll be proved wrong.

They may well be the two best teams in the country but only a few months ago we were genuinely competing and arguably outplayed both.

Fast forward a few months and we've been humiliated by both.

Its not that though in my mind anyway...its was the performances against the lower sides in the division in the back end of last season. We've been poor for a while now.

This. The manager has been spouting defeatist crap for a number of months now so is it any wonder the players lack confidence?

As you say it was a different type of game, we responded to conditions rather than having to take control of them.

This seems to have been the mistake today. Last season we battered Man City playing a similarly open side (granted fit Huddlestone/happy Modric is probably better than Kranjcar/unhappy Modric). We could impose ourselves on them. However since then they've spent over £100M(?) and become more cohesive. They're a different proposition.

I know we didn't have much choice in the centre of midfield but perhaps Redknapp underestimated how efficient Man City have become. It also illustrates our own lack of rhythm. We barely had a settled side last season and it showed.

Time for the jumped up car salesman to leave our great club. He has made so many mistakes and talks so much bollox it's not even funny anymore, levy must be sick of the shite that comes out of his mouth. He again got it badly wrong today and we payed the price. We are bottom of the league with 8 goals conceded. It is fast becoming a disaster.

Redknapp is the biggest bell end in football.

Time to go 'Arry.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and have refrained from commenting on the issue for fear of looking knee-jerk and hysterical, but I've finally made up my mind - I'd prefer we got rid of Harry sooner rather than later.

Sure, we have areas of weakness in our squad which need improving upon - most notably our strikers and centre-backs (I don't care what anyone says, Dawson is substandard gash) - but let's not kid ourselves here; we also have a great number of quality players - Van Der Vaart, Gallas, Lennon, Bale, Modric, Kaboul, BAE, even Defoe. The problem is they have no confidence, no belief, no conviction.

You don't cure that by signing Adebayor or Diarra or Parker or even Kaka - the positive winning attitude of the team has to cascade down from the top, and it's more than obvious that that isn't currently happening from Harry.

We're a sloppy defeatist mess with massive holes in our play and our tactics. We have great players who have gelled together perfectly in the past, and yet aren't coming close to doing it now. Harry has lost command of the team and lost belief. He's had ample time to fix that but our form since March has been abysmal. That's simply too long.

He has to go.

I have to say that in much of this you've bee a voice of reason TSH, so credit for that, but...

I think this post is a tad disingenuous because you've set up false opposites.

We clearly have a squad capable of fourth or better. So have Arsenal and so have Liverpool. Last season we were weak up front and now we have strengthened in that position.

I believe our first 11 is almost the match for anyone's.

So no, no excuses, we'd like to strengthen further, we need another striker another DM to give Sandro competition, but that's about it. We were already as good as Liverpool and Arsenal imo, but we want to be better.

Where we're no where near as strong as four of the other top five is in our manager. We're better than he has us performing, we were last season, we are this season, he talks about needing to freshen the squad up and I agree with him. I just think it's the management we need to upgrade.

So...straight up...do you think we should finish in the top 4?

Because that is ultimately how we should judge Harry surely?

No, on the players we have at the moment I think we SHOULD finish 5th.

We all get frustrated and annoyed at decisions or players but come on guys this is the best performing team we have had for a long while.
We have finished 4th and 5th in consecutive seasons.

Counting back from last year these are our prem finishes 5th, 4th, 8th. 11th, 5th, 5th, 9th, 14th, 10th, 9th.

I dont agree with the people who say Harry has given the players no belief, remember when we beat Afc and Cfc at home then City away to get champs league.
Can anyone honestly say they expected a Spurs team to do that ? I didn't. We might have played well in one or two but we would not have won all three. No way. Harry and the team done it.

Lets get behind the players, behind Harry and judge the team and manager over a whole season rather than the first two games which have been exceptionally hard.

Lets get the ball rolling at Wolves away COYS.

Levy won't change the Manager now. Anyone coming in would have no time to shape the squad in his own eye. The earliest opportunity now will be the winter in readiness for the January Window.

either arry really doesn't have a clue about tactics or he is purposely trying to get to the sack so he can get a nice big compensation package out of spurs before he loses his job without compensation due to him being sent down.

Have you also entertained the possibility that you could be talking out of your arse?

I would have moved Kaboul to CDM after half-time and put Bassong in for Kaboul. Kaboul would have put some bite into our midfield.

I agree with all thought that it was a bad idea to have 4 attacking mids going against such a crazy team.

"We had has many chances as them after 30 minutes until they scored"

And what about the other 60 minutes Harry?
