Its not just two bad results though, we've been very poor for 6 months now, albeit we had the summer break.

He can get the best out of the side but I suspect his methods, mainly how he handles the players personally, are wearing old.

I could be totally wrong but that's what I suspect, I think his lack of tactical awareness is being brutally exposed now and we are at that point under his reign were we need more than just an arm around the shoulder and galvanising the team via personal soundbites.

We need to be better coached, disciplined and organised and bascially set up better on a week to week basis.

Do I think Harry has hit his ceiling? Yes without doubt. Does that mean I'm ungrateful for what hes' achieved? Absolutely not.

His presence smacks of desperation at the moment though, a man running out of ideas because he doesn't have the answers.

This is the brutal truth of the matter, and lets be honest its not hard to see literally thousands of fans are saying this same thing, yet are coaching staff dont. As you say we have been poor, and doing the same things poorly over and over again. If the areas that need improvement havent been identified by our coaching team by now they never will.

I agree with both of these points and I think it's clear that he and Levy aren't on the same wavelength at all at the moment.

But if that's the case then Levy needed to act before the end of the window.

Is there a good time to act though? If Levy pulled the trigger at the end of last season it would have been deemed far too hasty and we would have been lambasted for it but now, if there is a definitive rift between them and this translating onto the pitch with the apathy from coaching staff then at what point is it for for levy to declare enough is enough.

It's not ideal and whatever decision Levy makes I hope it is clearly thought out and not in the heat of the moment.

I think this is the key.

Yes we've been shit in the last two games but ultimately we've played probably the two best teams in the country. Decisions shouldn't be made on those two games.

However, if Levy and Redknapp aren't together on targets and Redknapp is having a go at Levy in the press then Levy will have to thnk about what he does...taking into account the various vaguaries (sp?) about when Harry may leave anyway.

My worry is that Levy doesn't trust Harry and thus we haven't spent any money. If that's the case then everyone has fucked up. I'm just hoping that come Thursday I'll be proved wrong.

What with Capello leaving after the Euro's and Harry's reputation still high in the media and the FA, he may well take the decision to jump before he was pushed in order to save face and to play the victim which would undoubtedly be a view supported by the press and media.

Whenever a manager pleads for new signings to push a team on is a very worrying tone and if Harry genuinely believes he can't get more out of this current bunch then the only way will be down from here in his eyes.

It depends what Levy's targets are. If it's top 4 I think Harry is perfectly within his rights to say that this squad can't get that. Even the best manager couldn't make us compete against City with the money they spend.

I really don't know what to think. Harry has been brilliant for us and the Spurs 'fans' who ignore/forget that can fuck off in my opinion, but there is a creeping feeling that all is not well and that tends to be when Harry jumps ship.

Admittedly, 1-3 is unobtainable which can be debated at length but one that is pretty much set it stone. 4th place, which I'm sure is the remit for Harry and his the team this season was and I still believe is obtainable as we have witnessed the obvious failings of Arsenal who are gong backwards with little direction and although Liverpool have looked quite impressive thus far, a lot can change in the season and fundamentally it's a side put together hastily which can look great in some games but could quite conceivably turn into a team of individuals in a long arduous season.

Point is, we have a side capable of succeeding this season that is realistic to a club like ours - 4th place and hopefully a cup and if Harry doesn't believe he can take this side to that then serious questions must be asked.

I was there today and have been a season ticket holder for 15 years.
City were brilliant, we started well but slowly you could see the City players getting more confident and more dangerous and imposed themselves on us, and the confidence drained from our team.
City do have a World class team, and importantly a team with winners in it. Players who have won cups and leagues, who have played for top sides in the world, they mentally and physically won the battles on the pitch.
The movement passing and touches of Silva, Aguero and Nasri were class.
On paper they are better than us all over the park, and on the pitch they done it as well.
This is fantasy football for City, we cannot compete with the money they can throw around to buy players.
Harry is an attacking manager who plays open football. I like him for this its the type of football Spurs play, its what I want to watch.
He was hindered a lot today by injuries, we put out a good technical midfield who were just simply out played.
Its not the end of the world or a reason to call for his head.
We have played the best two teams in the country, and got beaten well by both sides who were better than us.
We didnt lack heart or desire imo, we just dont have players of the same ability as City.
Lets see what the transfer window brings and lets enjoy the international break and get some players back from injury.

Come on you Spurs

This is a genuine question and I don't know what my own answer is...

Do you think we have the 4th best team/squad in the league?

i'd say borderline between us and 'pool. Our squad is definitely better than le arse. Liverpool have strengthened massively in jan and now whilst we have stood still.

Squad undoubtedly!

Unfortunately I just don't think management has found the correct system to utilise the players in, nor has there been the required work rate off the ball to truly achieve our potential.

Adebayor and Parker will add further ingredients to the pot and enhance what is already IMO the best assembled squad we have ever had in the Premier League so surely we must be capable of equalling and (obviously) bettering the results of Arsenal and Liverpool.

After all that argument last week, now Harry himself has said all this transfer talk and shit preseason has unsettled us, do you still think we aren't underprepared?

I genuinely do, and certainly with a few more signings to come in.

Something isn't right behind the scenes though and that unfortunately is going to devalue the strength and quality of this squad if it isn't addressed.

We have, pretty much, the same squad we had when finished 4th (added vdv)

Since then United, City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all improved

Us and Arsenal have stood still

I think Arsenal and Liverpool will finish above us now. We need to be realistic now. We had our chance two windows ago and a second chance in January and did nothing

Who is it down to? I don't know. But we need to be realistic.

We have a better squad than Liverpool but that's where it ends currently.

Collectively they are currently singing from the same hymn sheet, although in Carroll they have the same problem that we have we Crouch.

We can still finish in the top four but everyone involved needs to take responsibility and act accordingly.

I find it interesting that despite criticising all of our players that alot of people think we have the 4th best squad in the league.

If people think that why are we clamouring for so many transfers?

If people don't think that why are they expecting so much?

Tough question, AFC were ahead of us no doubt but they have been weakend by the loss of Nasri and Fab and Clichy. Liverpool have been strengthened.
I would argue that AFC have players that have played at higher levels (Champs league) for longer. Van P, Vermarlen, Wallcott, Sanga etc. Gervinho looks a player for sure as well Wiltshire and Ramsey look class in the middle. I think they edge us slightly but we now have Ade and he will have an Unknown effect (I hope very positive) he "could" be the player to make a difference.

AFC may yet buy big in this Transfer window.. Very close. We dont have champs league to distract us either (we can blood yougsters and fringe players in Europa as far as I am concerned).
Liverpool have closed on us, will be an interesting season.

Honestly I think they are still in front of us, Liverpool just behind us.

So...straight up...do you think we should finish in the top 4?

Because that is ultimately how we should judge Harry surely?
