Manchester's former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton has confirmed he will return to the ring in 2010. "I've decided to make a comeback and have another fight this year - probably round about the summertime." he said.
"No opponent has been confirmed... there's been no date confirmed. But... I am going to have one more fight."
In his last fight last May, the 31-year-old Hatton was knocked out in the second round in Las Vegas by Filipino great Manny Pacquiao.
Mexican three-weight world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has been mentioned as a possible foe, while the fight will almost certainly take place in the United Kingdom.

I'm not really a Hatton fan but it'll be good to see him have one last match. I hope they pick his opponent carefully.

I've got mixed feelings about this - simply because the damage that ko punch from pacman could have caused. Is it really worth him getting back in the ring again - especially with someone with the skill of Marquez.

I just hope he only has one more fight and then calls it a day for the sake of his health. He should be able to enjoy his wealth and retirement!

Hope he wins, and as dcm says, I hope they're careful with choice of opponent!

waste of time even if he goes in at light welter... his day has been & gone.. had a great career & fairs fair fought at the top level.. possibly in another era he would have been title holder much longer but the divisions hatton fought/fighting at are extermely strong at the moment, personelly as a big boxing fan i wish he would quit now while memeories of the wars he's had are good..sadly like to many other fighters hattons going against good advice from respected people & fighting on.
thanks for memories ricky but enoughs enough!!.

I assume it's a pride thing, attempting to out on a win in front of the ardent fans that have travelled thousands of miles to support him. However what if he wins and then vows to fight another time? Could he take on Khan? Or haggle a return with Mayweather or Pacquiao?

He would get embarrassed again by all 3 of these.

Retire Ricky, before you get badly hurt.
