:) KY - honestly i'm not violent - (although it's got pretty close a few times at football matches and pubs - there's been a few eyeballs to eyeballs and 'outside now' I can tell you that - usually fuelled by lager of course :)

Anyway I apologise for over-reacting - I do get over sensitive at times :)

It's ok some good has come from this in that I've realised my own anger issues pale into comparision with some other peoples

Not only from now on will I only trust you for any ITK or any other football matters for that fact but that I'll look at you when dealing with my own self therapy...

ok ok - I'll take the sarcasm - I'm sure I deserve it - :) but not too much - I still am v. sensitive - and while not violent - I do have a very very long 'ignore list' and I'm sure you'd miss debating with me :)

Hi Robelito - You top me just - :)

I'm afraid I must admit I was an infant glory hunter - 60-61 was when I properly began supporting the team - the first game I remember is the 61 final - (not much live TV as you know then :)

I was born in north London - so not too much glory hunting going on - tho it was Islington and my dad was AFC - but hey as you know we were much better those days

had my first proper argument about football at school the monday after the 62 final :) remember it to this day - I think I was better tempered then though :)

Hi KY :) - glad to see you've been supporting the club almost as long as I have :)

I wish a lot of the time people would listen to me rather than chasing around after this or that ITK - I've got a far better track record of predictions than most ITKs - I'd certainly put my predictions and thoughts about how things are going at Spurs up against most of them

But alas, as David Matzdorf often laments, people want a quick fix of instant news rather than a more rounded view of what goes on

That's up to them - incidentally I devour ITK along with most of us and wouldn't be without it and there are certain posters who give insights I could never give because I don't have any connections within the club -

I then use experience and judgement to temper my views of various ITK facts/opinions- as I hope everyone does - but when you see the reactions to much of the ITK ... mmmm

Regarding your post, yes I did read it - but your opening line immediately got me wound up - ;-)

Who said it was simple - I gave a series of reasons why Keano would in all likelihood choose us - it was mainly to defend certain people who were getting flak for saying just as I was that it would be obvious why Keane might choose Pool - some people didn't seem to be getting this and I suggest you read a suggest you read the page I posted on and some of the pages before to see how (it was appearing to me anyway) how off beam certain people's judgement of the situation seemed to be

You also said it wasn't as clear cut as I made out -

my words were 'the chances are very high he will choose Pool' which is not clear cut it's a considered view of the options using bookmaking parlance

And unsurprisingly the hot favourite (pool) came in first - the odds could have been uoset but weren't -

what I was railing against was that certain people just didn't seem to get the relative chances of what was going to happen - but worse were giving stick to people who had a far more realistic grasp of the situation

I take your point that in the very recent past and up to this very day (or at least yesterday :) - there are good reasons for sticking with us and not going to Pool - but the fact is being Mr Tottenham is all very nice - being a part of the most successful club in English history and a club that is still way higher in the pecking order than us (check the odds for this year's title race) and which is playing CL football etc etc is another :)

plus Keane probably has more emotional attachment to pool as apparently a boyhood fan than he would have had to us when he first arrived -

Again I know not - I can only rationalise from the outside -

bottom line Keane chose pool and it's no surprise to me :)

I'm sorry, I've been a supporter for 35 years myself, and this whole thing smacks of a slightly 'ho-hum-sigh-holier-than-thou' attitude.

I keep my mouth shut, but like many people here I have contacts within the club who I occasionally hear from (frankly I don't like 'tapping' them too much as it puts them in an uncomfortable position), and whilst yes, there was never 100% against Keane leaving, I can absolutely assure you that events behind the scenes over the last 8 days or so have seen a significant shift in his attitude which has surprised many. As of 8-9 days ago, everyone knew the score BUT had been told by he player himself he would be happy to stay if we didn't want to sell. What has happened in that time mate has absolutely nothing to do with your 50-plus years experience or anything else other than "events" as described by Levy. He shares an agent with Scouse staff, so do the math.

A for this 'emotional tie to Liverpool due to childhood support', I'm sorry, that's bollocks mate and deep down you know it. Has he ever made a trip to see them as a neutral? Was he in Istanbul when they won the CL? I don't think he was (and if corrected with a fact I shall humbly apologize). The fact is mate is no more a Scouser than you or I, he is in fact Irish, and as far as I had always known it was Celtic who had his heart anyway (a club we all know he HAS gone to see on his spare time).

No mate, the fact is that he has suddenly allowed his principle to be turned by money and the gamble of instant trophy gratification. Fine. Except he spent a year mouthing his way into the role of a de facto 'Mr Tottenham', becoming a powerhouse at the club and a presence far far beyond the pitches and practice fields. Why do you think Levy is so pissed off about it?

I have no problems with anyone carrying the opinions and views you have on the matter mate, but when they start to come off all 'svengali' about it, and 'I always knew and so should you', I'm sorry, it's time to speak up!!!!

Incidentaly, if he leaves his missus in a year or two for someone with a 'bigger trophy cabinet', would you be calling her to tell her it was 'always going to happen'? Not trying to be a dick with this comparison mate, just making a point, because basically this is precisely what he's done to us, including the bit about signing a contract!!!!

Regards...

well steff - you've got your opinions - as far as I'm concerned you've misrepresented mine - and some of your analogies are just unfair - I could use stronger language but having narrowly avoided one row cos KY was mature about the exchange - I can't be bothered with another possible 'heated debate'

as you can see from the thread I've already apologised to KY for going OTT on his reply - and we're both happy to leave it at that - and indeed have been swapping reps :)

I'd normally just thank you and put you on 'ignore' for such a misrepresentation of my views delivered in a less than friendly fashion - but given I was wrong in the first place in the tone and nature of my comments and have admitted my guilt - i'll leave it at the fact I disagree with your analysis -

I stick by the substance of what I said, but should have been more diplomatic and more perceptive in my reply to KY

Regards DC

You can just hear the Scum singing....wheres your strike force gone.

Then Bent goes on to score a hat-trick.

I hope we sell him, he'll just be another Craig Bellamy for them and prob end up at blackburn in a couple of years. There is no way he will be a big player for Liverpool, he simply goes hiding in the very big games.

Dunno if anyone else has mentioned it, but isn't it a bit weird that Keane's played 45 mins tonight if he's definitely leaving?

I suppose if he is still with us come the league start, we'd want him fit and raring to go, regardless of his loyalties.

Sorry, but that's horse shit! Keane has been one of our most consistant players for the past 2 seasons.

Off the top of my head, he scored 2 against liverpool at Anfield last season. He scored a belter against Chelsea to get us a 4-4 draw, and scored against Arsenal that effectively killed the game off.

To say he hides in big games in nonsense!

It's all very strange MF - who knows what's gonna happen now events have taken this turn -for RK pool was probably the only realistic 'step up' that was gonna happen for him

has that transfer been made more or less likely by Levy's accusations - ... mmmm

One thing I said earlier in this thread, and has been said by many others I thought if Keane didn't get his wish to leave he'd carry on playing for the club no problem - whether after this he can - I dunno - but it wouldn't amaze me if he did

It'd be embarrassing - maybe even the '4 amigos' would block it

but what are the odds of Keano playing for us v Boro - 10/1 or 1000 to 1 - more like 10/1 I reckon - as I so often say I'm no ITK - but much stranger things than Keano staying and playing have happened in football

Hate him as much as you want to try to, but don't spout rubbish good sir.

Arsenal last year (both CC ties), the Chelsea final, the Chelsea 2-1 (Jol vs. Mourinho), the Liverpool game last year (scoring a brace).

Our biggest games, and he's either scored, set up or played a stirling captain's role. So don't try and slant something to disguise your obvious hurt.

We're all gutted here, except for some that can't see what he's brought to the club, but let's not detract from what he has brought to the club.

And scored against United in the FA...

...eventhough we went on to lose 3-1!
