I don't know if they really have to sell him before August 3rd, someone remind me of the implications of that date and his buyout clause (in brief please!).

But what I do know is that having him for some or most of preseason to gel with players and get a feel for movements and attacking style of our forward line could definitely allow him to contribute some early goals in August.

When the points are chalked up at the end of the season and we make the CL by a 1-4 point margin, then I can tell you now that it's worth paying the £4m or whatever it is right now and not pissing about...holding our d*cks like muppets but still wanting to piss in the tall glasses with the big dogs. I'd be happy with either, but Soldado is a better player without a doubt. I think in our current setup both would bag 20+ goals for us, though.

i'de be ecstatic with either! wouldn't say he is a better player by that much, if at all. dzeko would need no time to settle in and as someone else mentioned would have a massive point to prove. his record and form at wolfsburg was amazing.

If we can't strike a deal or meet the buy out clause by the allocated time then we forfeit the first refusal. That's what I'm getting from it. How we'd have a first refusal I don't know, unless it was a result of our bid last year or Baldini's recent meeting with Salvo.
