I was just reading this and one of the most undervalued parts about this deal is that not only are we bringing in a big time goal scorer, but we are also bringing in a team captain. If in fact we do lose Bale, his leadership can help. Don't get me wrong, I like Dawson, but it's hard to be that guy when everyone is constantly questioning whether you are the right fit for this style of play. I'm not saying that Soldado will be our captain obviously, but at least he has those qualities.
Don't we have a few former captains on the squad?

Lloris, Holtby, Soldado, Vertonghen all immediately come to mind.

Soldado: I am leaving because I dont believe in this project. I dont believe in this President

Not a happy departure.

From that I gather he doesn't see one there, but, most importantly, sees one here. Hope Gareth can see that and let's Soldado have a chance to show him something when he starts training (presumably next Monday).

"He scores goals, cuz he's Bobby Soldier" is still by far the best song idea I've heard for him.

If you're not sure listen to All These Things That I've Done by the Killers.

It HAS to be this. Perfect song. Easy. Catchy. Original.

Now I'll be singing this around the house all day. Can I both love you and hate you at the same time?

FM is so realistic. Soldado has scored 11 goals in 7 games. We're bossing the league next year I tell ya! ;)

Yes. My point is there is more to it than just playing. I wasn't saying he would be the only one. Just saying those types are good to have.

He said in the interview at the airport, that he apologises to the Valencia fans because many times he promised to fulfil his contract at the club, but there was an obstacle in the road, the new chairman.

He clearly hates him, and feels the chairman has fucked over his agents, who are 'like family' to Soldado.

Bale has to stay. Soldado was probably told (Like with Paulinho and likely Chadli) that Bale was staying. Robbie can see a project here (as we all can).

I love how the media are focusing in Soldado's sell on value and age, and not that he's at the absolute peak of his career, in the Spain squad, and a signing we could only have dreamt of only 1 or 2 years ago.

Fucking fantastic signing. Could be invaluable if he fires us in to the CL.
