So if a club makes £30m from the work of an agent, why shouldn't they pay him? He may have made the deal happen, might have saved the club another £10m in wages..

Makes sense to me, just needs regulating.

Often the case is that an agent demand a fee from buying club,
with "threat" that said player won't sign for the club if they don't also pay agent a fee.
As you say it needs regulation, it's the wild west out there now with too much power in the hands of agents.
I have no problem with a club asking an agent for help to sell a player and then be compensated.
That doesn't seem to be the way it works though.
If a buying club takes contact with selling club and they come to an agreement,
why is then a player agent supposed to take any cut that doesn't come out of the players pocket?

As I've already said
Pull the plug Levy,
bang some of the Bale money on top and get Jackson Martinez

Something isn't right though is it as we've been dealing with the agent from the get go ;)

Its all gravy - just seen this on twitter - its happening - just a matter of time now!: "Soldado's future is in the hands of Spurs." - Valencia Sport Director.

What does this mean though?

The fees are from his prior move, according to SBNation/Cartilage Free Captain:

"...Valencia claim that Soldad's agents need to waive some fees to OK the transfer. These fees are related to commision on Soldado's move from Getafe, as well as other fees and receivables agreed to during the players time at the Mestalla. The fees in question have nothing to do with Tottenham, who will be paying the agents' fees for the transfer itself."

What does this mean though?

No doubt another line from those desperados that the agent fee is our responsibility lol

I find it hilarious how they constantly try to appear threatening but they're so clearly desperate.

Edit - I stand corrected, I think.

If I were Solado I would be telling the agent to sort it out now. If he really wants to come to Spurs then the worse thing that could happen is the player himself pays the agent some of the money and receives it back later on?

TBH it seems like the agent might be in the right. Just speculation, but it seems Valencia owe the agent quite bit of cash, and now they´re trying to wiggle their way out. If so I can hardly blame them - considering the entire county having gone bust.
