As shit as he is, selling soldado without a replacement is nothing short of fucking madness.

Not bothered as much as most. With Chadli, we do have an alternate to Kane. We do need another forward in stat though, as we don't even really have a proper alternative to Chadli at LW.

Real feel for the guy.

He came wanting to suceed in PL and despite past success it didnt work.

Both parties now seem to agree that its best to cut losses and move on.

Couple of potential deals in the offing but cant agree to anything because we havent tied up replacements. Could kick up a fuss but no seeming to be a model professional - if only there were more around.

I think the real need is to get rid of ade - If we manage this then try to get rid soldado - though if he stayed I would be happy for him to play Europa and cup games

I think it has said a lot for Spurs fans how we have stuck with Soldado. If and when he does move on I wish him all the best. He never kicked up to my knowledge and simply could not cut it in England.

I don't quite get this constant "he has never kicked up fuss" line that fans keep posting?
What could he have kicked up about? He has had so many chances to perform.. Even in early days he was picked ahead of Defoe every week despite JD banging them in in EL, then Kane had to play second fiddle despite again clearly doing more when given a chance. It hasn't happened for him, move him on, but please explain why some think he deserves praise that he hasn't kicked off?

Can't wait to get shot of him

But I don't have anything against the guy as a man, I do like him and I do really hope he recaptures that form he had for Valencia back in La Liga

Surely he will be much happier playing back in Spain regularly and scoring goals again

It's good that he has kept a good attitude here throughout but it must be somewhat miserable for a player of his reputation to have been reduced to something of a laughing stock in the EPL. We as a club really need to replace him but I think it's even more important for his career and his happiness to get a move back to his comfort zone where he, I'm sure, will revitalise his career

Looks like a question of when and not if now.

Really wanted him to do well but it just never happened for him. Confidence shot after being isolated up front with that sterile football under AVB. Never got going but probably was never really built for this League as a lone forward.

Wish him all the best if this goes through, comes across extremely likable, and hope he can resurrect his career in Spain. Villarreal are a good side to, play some good football.

Like others have said, I have nothing against Soldado, but as a striker he will ultimately be judged on goals scored and on that basis he can't be judged as anything but a flop.

Hope he does well back in Spain.
