"Sabotage times" What. A. Name.

The Fail says initial loan at first. So they're gonna get Cerci AND Bobby on loan? Okay then.

Give it 2.5 legits out of 5. Okay effort. But not good enough. Could have done better.

It makes me sad because he seems really likable, team player, works hard, and he clearly gets along well with the squad. If it had worked I really think he could have become as loved as VDV... But at this point is there anyone left who really thinks he can turn it around and become anything better than a mediocre squad option? If we can get maybe 60% of his fee back it's probably a good deal for everyone. He'd do well in Italy.

Would only make sense if we could get in Benteke or someone similar.

Won't happen imo

Why? Soldado is our second choice striker and its not close between him and Kane. His contribution is meager and he hasn't really showed improvement over the year and a half he has been here. I think we will be actively looking to offload him if there's an offer remotely close to what we paid, and he could be replaced with anyone who fits Pochettino's system and is good enough to at least push Kane for a starting spot.

1) Milan are absolutely skint - they can't afford a £2.6m striker, let alone a £26m one

2) Soldado won't be going anywhere with Ade now banished. That leaves us 2 senior strikers at the club. At this point in time either Nathan Oduwa or Will Miller are our 3rd choice CF!

Soldado won't cost anywhere near 26m IMO. I don't even think he cost us that much, surely that figure included performance bonuses that weren't met. I'd reckon we end up paying around 20m for him, and we'd probably be willing to sell at around 15m. I bet Pochettino could name 100 strikers that he'd rather have in the squad more than badly out of form Soldado, and several of them would be gettable for that amount. Whether Milan could pay it I really don't know, but ATM they only have two players with more than 3 goals. With Torres out and Pazzini and Niang shite they could really use a striker, and the thought of missing CL football may be enough to get them to splash some cash.

I don't think we could buy a better striker for £15m, especially in the January (massively a seller's) market

In the FFP era I think we'll struggle to get £10m for Soldado, let alone £15m.

Turning 30, big wages, no sell on.

Everything most clubs are looking to avoid.

If consistent reports are to believed then we payed an initial £13m with the rest dependent on CL qualification and probably goals and appearances.

My guesstimate would be that we've paid an extra few million for appearances.

Would be very surprised for Levy to turn down an offer for a loan to buy offer for Soldado given his age/performance ratio and our need for freeing up wages unless we've received an offer from elsewhere.

Never met the fella, but he seems like a good one. It's unfortunate it never worked out (for more reasons than one) and I really would hope to see him succeed where ever he should end up. But, if selling Soldado would allow for us to bring in a striker that could really transform us, there's no doubt I'd be all for it.

Would work out well for both sides. If we can get a quality striker in

Yeah I think the only way he will be sold or loaned out is if we get a striker in. A loan there is probably the best bet. Get himself a few goals and some confidence.
