How long will it take him to assess the squad? How many will he deem not viable? How many will he need to buy? How many windows will it take? How many will they buy at a time.

Surely Spurs fans of all, should know that if there's no system in place, you're just in store for another three seasons of transition.

I imagine he'll work out which positions he needs to strengthen by January. One or two additions in the right areas (centre back and midfield) and with Henderson, and Sturridge both fit again they'll be a much stronger side.

Lol @ some of these comments.

If we needed a new manager we'd be absolutely over the moon to get Klopp.

I think deep down we all know that Liverpool will start getting a lot better with him at the helm. He's quality.

Benteke does not walk into the side over Kane. Eriksen and Coutinho are also about similar quality.

Yeah but some people just believe the hype don't they.. Coutinho and Benteke miles above Eriksen and Kane, behave.. Sturridge is quality but we don't have another striker anyway so thats not a fair comparison

I think the two squads are a bit much of a muchness really in terms of attack and midfield. Their attacking options are more varied up top and more in depth but on the other hand they only have Coutinho who is in any way creative whereas we have Lamela, Eriksen, Pritchard, Son and Alli who can all create. At the same time I think Dier is our only reliable DM option whereas they have Lucas and Can. Mason/Bentaleb and Milner/Henderson are much of a muchness IMO.

I think we have a much better defence and keeper than them.

I think some are trying to convince themselves constantly that we are fine whatever happens and are afraid to look at the truth.

Of course them getting Klopp is bad news for us.

Given the amount of Rodgers Gold that we have heard first hand while he was at the club, I can't wait for all the untold stories to come out now he is gone.

Hopefully there will be need for a thread of its own!!!

It's only bad news if you engage in the whole d*** swinging and "my clubs bigger than yours" that passes for a lot of football fandom these days.

Liverpool have always been a bigger club than us and always probably will be. There, I said it. I'm comfortable with it. I can still enjoy watching Spurs play if Liverpool finish above us. I don't actually need to watch us in the Champions League to feel satisfied with being a Spurs fan.

2bh, as much as I enjoyed laughing at Rodgers and as much as Liverpool fans are more akin to delusional cultists and conspiracy theorists rather than football fans, they are when alls said and done a "proper club", a proper big club at that and I'd far rather Liverpool do well than Chelsea, Man City and the goons.

Good luck to Klopp and Liverpool I say. I'll enjoy watching this Spurs team regardless.

Maybe, maybe not.

It remains to be seen and he's no experience of managing in England.

I honestly have no idea how he will do, but I do know though it will take time to make a real impact - that's just common sense.

I'm bored at lunch so thought I'd predict what some of the poems will look like (oh how I'm wasting my life...)

They sing aloud and never stop
The mighty heroes filling the Kop
Who will lead us back to the top
The one and only Jurgen Klopp

Glory days I hear you cry
Where have they gone? I wonder why?
With Rodgers we dreamed our targets expanding
Our play was great, the effort, outstanding
Now he's gone and we look a little further.
My leader, my guide, my hope, mein führer

I think Klopp is the best manager they could get, I'm not commenting on the manager. My point is with the squad he's inheriting, and it's the same reason as to why I didn't think Liverpool would be a problem for us this season. I'm trying to offer a sense of perspective to those who are wetting themselves about Klopp.

Liverpool are the most arrogant team around. They seem to be under the delusion that they are still a top club yet have not been for many many years. They have done a marvelous job coasting on the reputation they had from the 80's but it really is time for them to wake up and stop trying to fool themselves. End of the day, they have been overtaken by both Manchester teams, Chelski and the pedophile from North London's young boys team with other teams also starting to overtake them.

Pretty much. Gutted they've got rid of Brodge.

No guarantees but even if he just does the sensible things - no need to pull up any trees with any masterclasses - their financial advantage over us will quickly tell imo.

****s.

However, it will take him a couple of windows to get everything in place so I'm not going to think all is lost this season.

Absolutely gutted they sacked Brent and are getting Klopp, absolutely gutted. Worst thing that could've happened from our point of view, I really hoped they'd stick with Brent for the rest of the season.

Bloody hell, some of you lot are going on like he is the messiah. He has done well in the past, at one club. He may do well at Liverpool, but that remains to be seen. It certainly isn't guaranteed.

Klopp will be thought of as the messiah from the scouse fans and everyone in the media, not sure he's ever had to work under such pressure, even when he was taking Dortmund places there was never this amount of expectation.

Nevertheless, he's a much better manager than Brendan fucking Rogers! It can only strengthen them, and help them attract better players.
