He just defeated Djokovic in 7-6, 7-5 and 7-5 straight sets with an absolutely sublime shot near the end which he described as his best ever. Here it is:

Federer. Genius. Best Player of all time without any shadow of doubt.

But, I've seen that shot hit so many times on a tennis court (admittedly not in the semis of a slam). I could find you countless kids who can hit a through the legs 'hot dog'. He connected with it well, but I can remember him playing exactly the same shot against Marat Safin in the Aus Open final a few years ago, fluffing it and losing.

I'm more impressed with the rest of his game. He can do things other people can only dream of.

This is true but it was the timing of this shot that was so incredible, giving him 3 match points to reach another slam final.

I don't know if you watched it live but it was an incredible moment to witness.

Watched that live. Was a fantastic moment to watch. Djokovic was just standing there looking at him. He didn't look surprised by the fact that the shot actually came off either. lol

He is, at the moment. But its at times like these that the experience Federer has will stand to him.

A break for Del Potro, and he leads for the first time in the match. Come on Fed, show us why you're the greatest.

You'll be waiting a while mate.

Seems as though Del Potro has gotten to Federer a bit. Never seen him act like that, towards anyone, let alone an umpire.
