ditto that, he never stopped working for the team, played some great passes, one particular cross field ball that led to the Gud miss was outstanding, and his tackling back was immense, i'd like to see his stats for the game

Thought id bump this thread as i thought the guy worked his nuts off tonight.

Running the flanks, working the channels, tracking back, hard tackling and pressing defenders.

Really nice to see Pav have a good hard working game, even if he didn't score

Too true, brudder, too true:beer:

Agree. Ran back VERY deep when they were passing it around on the edge of our box in the first half. Was a good selection. Him and defoe is a nice combination that you know lets us play football on the ground. I am still a fan of crouch but see him more effective away from home

I think tonight he FELT like part of a team doing something important in a way that language (or the lack thereof) can't hinder:grin:

What I posted in another thread before seeing this one had been revived...

Alternating the Brahma and Balticka beers tonight in honour of the two heroes of the night for me, Gomes and Pavlyuchenko.

Until the last ten/fifteen minutes when Gomes pulled off those amazing saves, Pav was my man of the match. He put in a real shift tonight, getting stuck in with the tackles, often forcing Arsenal backwards, holding up the ball, keeping possession, playing some superb balls, (how Modric managed to fluff that one near the end I'll never know), and generally harassing the shit out of the Arsenal defence.

Not since the days of "on loan" Mido have I seen a Spurs striker work so damn fucking hard. It wasn't mercurial, it wasn't flash, it wasn't even noticed by most from the look of the ratings, but it was there and it was damned important.

Absolute hero!

Then Gomes pulled off those saves...and stole my MOTM nomination from him.

Congratulations and thank you to both our Russian and our Brazilian! I won't forget it!

I've been converted into a Pav fan but his finishing leaves a lot to be desired.
he should have had a few today to finish Chelsea off, i hope he is saving them for United next week!!

I think it was just one of those days, for Pav today. Worked hard and got into good positions so I wouldn't be too hard on him, not after that result.

Pav knows he did not perform to his desired standard. he missed some easy sitters. he will reflect on this and make amends. hope he stays next season. Defoe has gone off the boil though,

think other than his finishing he had hs best game for us in a while. Seemed to put in a good shift and worked hard which sometimes he doesn't. Some of those misses were bad though !!!

Yeah, he worked hard and played alright. He was just a little off on the finishing today.

It didn't come back to haunt us fortunately. If he keeps playing the way he is at the moment, and getting into similar positions, im confident he will start banging them in again.

Just like weds, Pav was one of the better players in a great all round team performance.
He never stopped running, tackling back, linking up with midfield, making himself available, creating space for others, distributing the ball across the pitch to perfection, closing down the defenders.
He missed a couple of good chances in the second half for sure but he has lately prove to be our best all round forward

If Pav can sort his shooting out, he'd be excellent. Although saying that, he forced a great save out of Cech.

Poor finishing, but he offered us a lot, held it up nicely and kept it under control, using it sensibly.

I have a sneaky feeling that because he didn't score, Redknapp will play Crouch against United.

he played well but his shooting was off today
1 thing for certain is starting defoe and pav over crouch = better spurs football all round

crouch is still a great option to bring off the bench when needed but today harry got it spot on as he did wed and long may it continue

He's working his nuts off, which again, is all I ever wanted him to do. He missed two terrible chances today, but I'm enjoying the new Pav.

The problem today was that he had too long to think about it, sometimes the best finishes are those instinctive one's.

You can't be too hard on him, he worked his ass off today and did everything but score, yes he should have got at least 1 but when you look at some of the goals he's scored recently, it balances itself out.

He's still a top player and Defoe and Pav upfront together looks alot more of a goal threat, we always looked like scoring today with Bale down the left causing all sorts of problems.
