Couldn't, or chose not to try.

If true then I hope to buggery they have a solid, and superior option tied up.

I believe you mentioned previously that if anyone hopes for something big this window then we can expect disappointment. Which in itself is disappointing to hear. Anyone with a brain can see we are lacking something

Chelsea being also linked to him and as now, the club closest to signing him in january. I think it's a big risk to sign him now and rely on his services when he actually haven't played any football at all this fall. Not even U23 as far as I can see. He would need months of training and mending him slowly back into the team will take time. Need to wait until summer if not another club picks him up in january of course..

Eurgh - we're not doing anything this window are we?

Feb4th, possibly Feb 10th - that's when we'll have a clear sense of this season. We could be a in very sticky spot.

We've got to sort out our attacking play, we were toothless last night, and not for the first time
Yes it has been a problem for a while this lack of being able to break teams down same old issues last night and both Swansea, Burnley at home we should of had 9 points instead of 3 that we have and that is simply not good enough.

Ridiculous yet we bought that shit Sissoko for 30m and can't sign someone Poch apparently actually wants.

JJ has said numerous times that Poch really wanted Sissoko.

And Poch seems to like muscle over brain and technique so I don´t doubt it. Just look att the midfield triangle yesterday with Dier, Sissoko and Alli.

Poch has said it was a levy buy and I think I’d take his word on it (y)

Dunno about anyone else, but I cant wait for that familiar twinge of regret when Ross inevitably forces his way into the Chelsea set-up and puts in performances that we're crying out for.

To be fair Ross wouldn't strengthen us this season anyway. Been out for a long time and needs to slowly get back to playing. That said, it was one for the future and if Poch really wanted him and Levy decided not to get him, that is worrying, Daniel really need to listen to his managers otherwise there will be no Poch left in the club.

I am so tired of all the talk of someone getting in the next window, there is always a next window.

Moreover, what we are lacking is clear. It's been the same thing for a number of windows and just don't seem to be getting addressed. When we're on an upward curve (as we have been) that's not an issue, but we are now staring down the barrel of a very tough 6 months, with some serious/high quality competition for very few places.

We have a month to boost the squad for that time - if we don't act on it, you have to question the decision making at some, or all levels of the club.

This is not a knee jerk, or a specific reaction to this instant, more that we haven't acted on some obvious issues over a sustained period of time

Having a medical today at Chelsea, fee around £15m. We are complete rank amateurs when it comes to transfer dealings. Barkley will go on to be a top quality player for them while we piss around in the wind as usual. Laughably inept.

He'll struggle to get in their team with the options at their disposal.
Nice pay packet for him, but he will be another player the end up selling for profit.

Yep - it's in the book.
Poch goes on holiday when the window is coming to a close. Levy bought Sissoko.

He also says that he has the final say on transfers. I very much doubt Levy is out buying players behind Poch’s back, as much as it might appease the anti-Sissoko narrative.

Why is it that Spurs always seem to uncover 'revelations' about a player that means we don't end up signing him? Yet our rivals don't seem to care and sign them anyway. It just sounds like pure spin. To me it sounds like we wanted him but he was offered more by Chelsea so now we are pretending we didn't want him anyway.

It's utterly ridiculous we are letting a rival sign Barkley for peanuts. He is exactly what we needed to strengthen our midfield and now he will go to that cesspit of a club. Chelsea strengthen yet again when they are above us in the table, we are playing catch up yet can't even sign one of Poch's top targets.

According to SSN we have other targets, so let's hope Danny is prepared to stump up the money to get them.

Watch us sign someone mediocre in the summer who doesn't get on the pitch anyway.

Lots of Spurs-focused journalists tweeted at the same time that we could’ve matched Chelsea’s bid but Pochettino prefers other targets - which means this is something they’ve all been told by the club.
