The point on Conte is rubbish. He turned a bang average Juventus side who were strugling to getting into the europa league places into runaway champions, with little investment. He made the most average Italian national team in a generation look like world beaters. His success has little to do with spending, and at Juve most of his big money signings were absolute failures. His greatest strength is instilling a winning mentality and getting the most out of often limited players.

Its true he doesn't put faith in youth and prefers more intelligent older players, but if you work for Conte he will work for you and the number of average players who Conte trusts and made most out is incredible. Players like Giaccherini, Matri, Eder, Moses and Parolo among others, are players who are not particularly good by any stretch of the imagination. But they are players that Conte is able to get something extra out of them, to the extent where picks them ahead of much more talented players.

I think all this highlights his tactical abilities rather than his ability to develop players. I never said he was a poor manager, just that he's a manager that concerns himself only with winning short term through effective tactics and developing a good team spirit. Tactically he's one of the best, but in terms of improving players I don't think his record is that great. He only concerns himself with the short term in my opinion and that means spending mega money if it's available because he isn't comfortable developing and coaching young players.

I mean he knows how to get the best of players others gave up on. Starting with Pirlo and ending on Moses. I think he does improve players he works with, I really do but you right in that he doesn't seem to develop players, take young players and make em great.

Barkley does not seem the type that would do well for Conte anyway, In fact Barkley is exactly the type of player who he tends to drop in favor of more pragmatic alternatives. So I would be surprised if Chelsea really wanted him. I don't believe they do for a minute.

you might well be surprised ...Chelsea will for sure get in the way, as they'll want to stop us buying the player...even if it costs 40m

If Chelsea want him as a player they'll get him. I don't buy that they'd sign him to stop us, it would just be an added incentive. At the moment it looks like Conte wants 3/4 more at a considerable outlay, they have other priorities to sort at the moment rather than signing someone just for kicks.

I suspect more likely Everton get Chelsea involved just to drive up the price. I don't think Chelsea are at all interested in Barkley, I'm not convinced even they are so big on the idea of wasting millions and millions just out of spite.

I think he wants Spurs only. If Chelscum pitch for him he will turn them down in my opinion. He wants to work with Poch to save his England career.

Barkley's choice:
Go to Chelscum make more money and spend next summer on a beach in the Caribbean
Go to Tottenham and be part of the England squad at the next WC
