I can think of at least 15 million reasons. Plus, he is likely to not be 100% fit until closer to December than October.
How much extra money is one place in the league worth, does anyone know?
Why won't he be fit to play until December? Not that I think that comes into it as even if it is true we will have him across the busy Christmas and New Year period rather than having to wait until February before we can play him.

How do you know what his recovery time is likely to be?

I have said why earlier in the thread...

1. He has a grade 3 hamstring tear which is 6-8 weeks.
2. He is recovering from a hernia operation.
3. He missed pre-season.
4. He has not played since May.

So 6-8 weeks to recover from the muscle tear and then another 4 weeks to get base level of fitness back, then another 2 weeks to get match sharp.

Obviously every player is different, but hernia op and then hamstring tear is not likely to result in quick recovery. Especially when you consider how Poch won't consider players who are not 100% fit and doesn't rush players back from injury. When you consider Poch's fitness requirements to play in his system, especially for a midfielder, then it suggests he wouldn't be of use to Poch until Nov/Dec.

Has it actually been confirmed the extent of his injury then?

I came here to make a joke about us now having to move onto our second target, Boss Rarkley, but then I realized Boss Rarkley is such a better name and would be such a better player if he existed that I am now sad he doesn't. Gonna pour one out tonight in memory of Boss, the player that never was and what he could have been.

I don't think I've ever seen a tranfer target play out in such a predictably unpredictable way. It's like an Ealing farce: Hernias, Hammies and Handbags

We're hitting that point of the window where people seem to start becoming unhinged more and more with each passing day.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Koeman was all very vague about Barkleys latest hamstring injury...I'm not convinced there's anything wrong with him :cautious:
