Reckon this'll be done pretty soon.
No we don't. We don't give a flying fuck about thatwe want a reputation as a club that is reliable at sparing blushes.
After all, 'We is us'No we don't. We don't give a flying fuck about that

Of course, in this instance i'm using the 'Royal' we

That's a risk I'd expect Levy to take. Spending £30m on a player who can't play for months and will be worth half that in 4 months time anyway would be financially negligent.

Medicals are there to spot future issues like wear and tear to hips, knees, ankles..etc a torn muscle wouldn't stop a deal go through
chances are we could probably have him returned in 6 to 8 weeks (or even earlier than that) which is far early than January transfer window's going to open. we can have him around training with our current squad and we can have choice for rotation with the packed schedule coming up from October onwards (depth of squad to be considered).
yet, if we don't give it a go this summer, and he might not be back in action with everton, he might choose to go in January for any team guarantees starts that he could still fight for a place in World Cup England squad.
we are yet to know how serious the hampstring injury thingy actually is. who knows if it's only mild or it could be another Erik Lamela situation.
Not an English club but with a club in another country.Plus I believe in Jan he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. Probably with a ridiculous signing on fee and inflated wages since he'd be leaving for free in the summer. If Poch wants him and we he wants to join, buy him now.

It'll almost certainly go right to deadline day if you ask me.
Particularly with the injury. Levy won't want to pay a couple of weeks' wages for someone who can't play, and he'll definitely use this to try and reduce the price. All of which means it'll likely drag on until the 31st.
If we do want him though I agree with those who say we need to sign him this window. If he's still at Everton in January then there will be high value offers flying all over the place for him and we'll probably be outbid on wages.
Because he will make our team better this year. My point is that he won't make our team better before December as he has not had a pre-season, he's just had a hernia op, and now has a grade 3 tear of his hamstring. Why pay £30m (and wages of £100k plus a week I presume) for a player who won't be able to play, when we could pay £15m for the same player in 4 months (when he will be able to play)?[/QUOTE]
Because the likes of Chelsea might come in for him by then
Hell, even the likes of West Ham might come in for him and offer £150k a week, which we definitely won't be paying
Medical's assess underlying or long term injuries. We've signed "injured" players before as have most clubs.
If he doesn't move in this window I can see him signing a new contract. It happens so often.
Am I the only one with an ominous feeling that Chelsea are just waiting in the background to gazump us? I don't know if it's going to be Barkley, Sanchez, Pereira, or whomever, I just know it's coming.
They were set up as 3-4-2-1 at the weekend with Klaassen and Rooney behind Sandro. Presume Klaasen and Siggy behind Rooney is one of the main options.Surely Sigurdsson, Rooney and Klaassen will want to play the same role? The are all #10s.
With all the money they have spent, they are SO much weaker without Lukaku. No one is going to replace those goals.
Anyway, give a shit, this must mean Barkley can move now.
He's going to be committed to joining someone in the next few weeks. He won't get starts at Everton, which he needs if he wants to make the England WC squad. He can't even afford to waste half a season.Depends how committed Barkley is to actually joining us.
In 4 months, we may see other clubs move for him on the basis that he's going to be on a reduced transfer fee.
Factor in that from March he can negotiate a free transfer to another country (but can't move until summer), and it is indeed a risk that Levy needs to weigh up.
He may also see Everton starting to improve, threaten for a top 4 slot and sign a new deal...
