From BBC:

"Roy Keane has been appointed manager of Championship side Ipswich Town. The 37-year-old signed a two-year contract following the dismissal of Jim Magilton on Wednesday.
Keane has been out of work since December when he resigned as Sunderland manager, having taken the club from the Championship to the Premier League. "

It'll be interesting to see how he goes. I have a feeling he wont get the same response he got from the Sunderland players when he first joined them.

So he'll sell them all and buy players with connections to Ireland, Celtic and Man Utd. Then he'll quit again.

lol he is just binding his time in that job. As soon as a better club comes in for him he will be off.

I kind of lost my admiration for him when he quit Sunderland. I really admired him as a player, never had him down as a quitter.

Thought he was a good player and lost all sorts of respect for him 2001 when he ended Haalands career.

He's a disgusting psycho

Fully agree, should have been banned from football after he admitted it was deliberate.

Why the f$$k has the Chairman recruited him? He's proven he doesn't fancy it when the going gets tough, he's a terrible man-manager and has won absolutely bugger all, a fact he so kindly highlighted in his ex-teammates.

Few qualifications and little experience for the job, yet signed on an undoubtedly enormous contract. Such action would indicate the Chairman was most likely advised by the current government. It honestly beggars belief ....

Purely because he dragged Sunderland off the bottom of the Championship and left them in the Premiership in no time at all. That's where every team wants to be, Ipswich included, so it's worth the risk.

In fairness, Keane could be just what they need.

My sister works with a couple of Ipswich season ticket holders and they've been saying that the team lacks passion and comitment.

He has much to prove.

For all his posing by the touchline his buying record at Sunderland was abysmal - he just bought someone then discarded them when he fancied another player.

He was lucky at Sunderland they had some cash behind them at the time, but he really needs to learn the skill of getting the best out of the squad of players he has at his disposal and adding when the right opportunity comes along, in an area he needs to strengthen. Rather than just applying the scattergun approach and buying as many players as he can.

Roy Keane is a coward. He does not have the stones for a fight, as soon as the going gets tough he will be off.
