suffering a heart attack playing for Real Madrid at the end of October?????

He collapsed yes, but a heart attack? That never happened. According to Real Madrid, he is currently under exhaustive medical examination to determine whether he does suffer from heart problems, but have remained silent about the outcome of such analysis:

That newspaper should be closed for good, what a bunch of sensationalists.

IIRC Kanu was told that he had heart problems when he was at Inter, and to stop playing football, so he left and ended up at Arsenal eventually and had a brilliant career without any health problems, in the short term anyway, it remains to be seen whether he'll be ok in his older years.

I assume that Real just don't want to take any risks with De La Red though, so hopefully it's just precautionary.

Kanu had an operation to fix a heart defect though, it may be that De La Red's problem is congenital. I imagine that they are very careful in Spain now after Puerta's death.

Reading that brought sad memories about Mark-Vivan Foe, ex Man City and Camaroon international. R.I.P

he's a very good player as well. What a shame for the young lad. If this was the case at least they identified it before it was too late, and he callapsed like Foe. I always liked Foe as well. He was like a better Boupa-diop, but not quite a viera.

As far as im aware, im not even sure if they know 100% that its a heart problem. The only thing that Real have said is that he will not play until they know for sure what it is-in fact, the word heart doesnt even appear in that article so yes, it does seem pretty outrageous for the Star to report such things, although you can hardly be suprised.

Hope he makes a quick recovery, you wouldnt wish that kind of problem on anyone

Apparently, low blood pressure rendered him unconscious. Not as serious as everyone at first thought as he can easily be treated for this.

Hopefully he'll be ok and able to continue playing as he's a cracking player!
