bloody the man city player is starting ffs! lol
I dont know what you mean, maybe you dragged that word wrong whilst quoting meThat's a cool name.
Is he Brazilian?
At least he was on the bench this time.
This is really sad that Im going to say this but serouisly what is next for him tbh, as even if he breaks in to the first team and does well at Lorient till the end of the season, what would he be able to do with us.
As to be honest he has Dempsey, Sig, Holtby and Bale in front of him in the position he wants and I can see Dempsey going but in terms of next season the best I can see for him is him replacing Carroll next season who may go on loan tbh
Yeah, ok. But Mason is already 21 years old. Only 2 year younger than Gylfi and 1 than Holtby.I've said it before but essentially we've got a number of excellent young players coming through who play the withdrawn striker/no 10 role. In the last two transfer windows we've bought 3 players who can play that role thereby blocking any realistic route to the first team for our youngsters. It just smacks of poorly thought put transfer policy. Buy one, even two. But three?!
Yeah, ok. But Mason is already 21 years old. Only 2 year younger than Gylfi and 1 than Holtby.
Where was Gylfi 2 years ago ? He was playing in Hoffenheim in Bundesliga.
Where was Holtby 1 year ago ? He was in the last 8 of Europa League with Schalke.
Where is Mason now ? Playing in French 4th division.
This is not just a transfer policy issue : Mason is probably just not good enough.
I have to disagree here, because look at all those players, firstly they where all playing for a team that didnt have 3 first team Am's there and where all playing for lower quality teams compared to us. Hoffenheim had just signed him from Reading a championship club, the season after he didnt hardly any minutes does that make him shit all of a sudden and went Swansea because he worked with a manager he liked at Reading, and it was a hit.Yeah, ok. Those three or four teams being Man United and who else?I have to disagree here, because look at all those players, firstly they where all playing for a team that didnt have 3 first team Am's there and where all playing for lower quality teams compared to us. As for Holtby he was playing for a Schalke team that wanted youth to come through but also needed it to come through and even he was loaned out to Mainz so that he could have the minutes and then brought back for the first team.
Whereas Mason is playing for a Top 4 team in the toughest league in the world where good quality teams are not just limited to 4 or 5 but also here 6 to 7 teams are in the CL race and 3 or 4 teams are in the title race. As for Mason himself he has dominated the youth teams at a young age so much that Clive Allen tipped him to be a great player for us when he was 17 and said he would be the next spurs star since Ledley.
He went to Yeovil, was the best player there and then the year after he went to Doncaster did very well on the wing and in AM, got a back injury and missed the rest of the season except 5 or 6 games at the end. Doncaster were desperate for him to come back and then decided that they didnt want to risk the playing a number 10 role as they were in a relegation battle and needed to lump it forward. He was recalled then loaned to Millwall who didnt need him. This season he spent most of it playing CM and did well in the role controlled the midfield in games like the one against United where he played a team with PL experience in a two man midfield with Carroll.
As for whether he is good enough, everything I have ever heard about this guy is that he is the real deal and the most talented player at spurs, this has been said by Caulker who at Swansea said he was the one to watch for, Mick Hazard, Clive Allen and the spurs coaches. The strangest thing is that I have never ever heard anything bad about him in terms of people not rating him, which you always hear about all our youth players tbh including Caulker, Carroll, Townsend and Rose.
