And that mystery player than Hercules and Gyid mentioned? JJ was also quite positive on a wide forward.
Could it be that the club see Sessegnon's future as being a wide forward?

He would certainly seem to fit with the other part of the ITK (a player who we thought we had failed to sign becoming available again), and many have suggested that he's best suited to an attacking role.

With the way they were talking I can't imagine that's who they meant, even if the club do see him playing further forward

I see what you mean but Sessegnon is viewed as a massive talent. Certainly one that would excite you if you heard it was suddenly on again.

The "gamechanger" part could also refer to the implications this transfer might have for Rose's future, and therefore on the rest of our transfer business (especially with regard to Martial -- although JJ had now pooh-pooh'd that, perhaps it seemed more possible a couple of days ago).

I think we're trying to make more of it than it was. Hercules yesterday made it pretty clear Martial was the forward he was talking about it's just, and as JJ pointed out today, going to require the stars aligning and us being decisive if ManU buy another wide forward or player which would take gametime from him.

£25m isn't crazy money for a player of his potential in this market. How much do you think we'd be paying for an 18-year-old Bale at this point? It wouldn't be £5m plus add-ons that's for sure

Looking good
Amazing, I'd be thrilled if we got him. Haven't been allowing myself to dare to even hope since Sessegnon signed his pro deal with Fulham, as I thought our chance to sign him would vanish forever once he a transfer fee (rather than a tribunal fee) was involved.

Has anyone checked that @WoodyforSpurs hasn't had any kind of cardiac arrest etc following such a positive update by JJ?

To repeat a point made earlier in the thread, if we can sign Sessegnon this summer and he subsequently stays with us until he's 21, then he becomes Club Trained for the purposes of our homegrown players quotas in European competitions.

Which would be even more handy than it would have done a few weeks ago, because if Danny Rose leaves us at any point in the next year or two then we would be losing a Club Trained player in DR.

I think the amount of sex wee that I would produce if we signed Sessegnon would create a tsunami.

I don't know why, but this is a signing I really believe would cement our future as one of the world's best clubs for signing and developing young talent.

Exciting news. Best part is the possibility of that bet I put on him signing might still come off after me basically ripping up my betting slip when he signed the contract with Fulham.

Looks like we are building a team to be in the Big Four (CL spots) for the next decade or so .
Plus it would just keep the interest in Poch to stay with us for the long term.

I'd fucking love it I feel we got him as would add such attacking quality down left.

Davies has been doing well but doesn't quite have that quality Rose provides.

Would be great if it happens! Super youngster! I would imagine it would mean a season long loan back to Fulham but let's see!
