@tiger666 those words are not mine but rather I think that is what he is or was trying to say so I don't want anyone attributing that as my thoughts.

Whether we move now or in the summer I'm fairly certain the same clubs would be competing for him, they wouldn't just give us a free run because it's January.
Surely not, but the indications are that, right now, we're in pole position, so we should strike while the iron's hot.

That’s ok...I guess the written word doesn’t always convey everything then does it. I mean you replied like someone who seemed like he was a smug sarcastic, asshole. Sorry I didn’t express myself more clearly.

Jeeze, I’ve never commented on one of your posts before and you can gather all that from it? You’re good.

I think Klopp is more out of the Mourinho school of buying the ready made article rather than buying a prospect.

I'm not sure that's fair. In his time with Mainz and Dortmund he blooded plenty of young players and has done so with a few of the Liverpool academy players as well. In fact, one of the reasons cited for bringing him in to Liverpool was that they felt he would be ideal to help their talented crop of academy prospects develop. Obviously he's spent money as well but he seems by all accounts to be someone who wants to develop academy players if possible. Whereas Mourinho seems to have absolutely no desire to even look at the academy by the sounds of it.

As I said I'm not but I think that is what the poster is saying.
No. I just meant to say that being level headed or loyable doesn't necessarily mean everything. I thought Walker was Spurs for life, but went after money and trophies. So, I wouldn't be so surprised If Sessegnon would do the same now. But anyway, I think we can be very optimistic, there are many reasons why he could choose Tottenham. So let's hope we get it done.

Most clubs will see more of this im the present and future climates players leaving for very elite clubs like we have seen today with couthinio going to Barca, where he stands more chance of titles and CL than he would at Liverpool.
As for sessengon I would be delighted if we got him I think he is a real talent and hopefully once we get into the new stadium if the club continues to move forward then players maybe less inclined to look and go elsewhere.

No idea, but how is that relevant to my point? Even if they did it doesn't say anything about Mourinho. The discussion wasn't about who has the most productive academy I'm talking about Klopp and Mourinho's record for taking a chance and using untested young players.

Off the top of my head, I would assume it's because Lingard and Rashford played a lot but not only were both of them already established 1st team squad players before Mourinho even took over, but LIngard especially is 25 so it's hardly like Mourinho has taken a punt on some unknown kid from the youth team, he's just a player they have who happens to have been an academy graduate years ago.

Sorry but the amount of youth players given debuts by mourinho last season is very relative to your point saying that mourinho doesn't give academy players starts.

You didn't say he gave them debuts, you said he gave them starts which is a completely different thing. Like I say, the majority of their "academy starts" will have been Lingard and Rashford, neither of whom have anything to do with Mourinho's policy on youth academies.

I believe he gave more debuts than us. In fact i think it was one of the most in the prem. Will try to find it but difficult.
