We still have BENT we still have BENT!

That is something to be thankful for .

If both of them went we would still have one striker who has a proven ability to get it in the net .

Bent doesn't have the panache of Berbatov but neither did Archibald and Crooks but they delivered the goods .

southlondonyiddo... what are you rambling on about? There is absolutely no evidence that Berba wants to leave. If you think the way he plays has anything to do whether he wants to be here or not, you clearly haven't got a clue and don't watch him enough. It's his style.

I'm confident he'll still be a Tottenham player next season.

Its you thats rambling Spurs tinted bullshit mate. I watch him every week and what SLY is 'rambling' on about has nothing to do with his attitude.

We are David, and all of a sudden Goliath has come in and said 'hey Berbs, come and test yourself in arguably the best team in the world' - its a no brainer mate.

Im willing to bet you a large sum of cash that he goes. How can you be so naive?

Sorry Flats, have to say I agree with the above. More signs point to un-rest than they do contentment. I've been out of the loop transfer-rumour-wise, yet I still feel Berba will go and have done for a long while.

You can play Devil's Advocate as much as you like, Flatters, but SLY and YTID have it right. Doesn't make it any less gutting though. :-(

Does anyone else think this can benefit us? Last season everyone was talking about us breaking into the top 4 and look what happened. If we sell Berbatov, people will be doubting us. We wont sell Keane aswell as Berbatov though, so we'll still have our top scorer. As mentioned above, we still have Bent aswell. He will benefit most from this. He is the out and out striker, with pace and power, that we're crying out for. With the all improved midfield now that we have Modric, Giovani and Bentley to follow, we will have the creativity that Berbatov had to produce. We could also spend the Berbatov money on Capel, Milito and Albelda and we'd be sorted in my mind.

Well that all depends. Remind me, who won out of David v Goliath?

Dream on

Berbs is world class, fergy wants him, berbs wants to go, If Man U cough up he's offski.
As for Keano If Liverpool can afford him he'll be off too.

Maybe, but they can't afford him.....it's as simple as that. They have made it very very clear that Barry is their No. 1 target and they are struggling big time to drum up the cash for him. Given that Keane would cost more than Barry there is clearly no way they can afford Keane.

Well it's just a fairly simple case of Man Utd having to pay what we think he's worth, and I don't think they will. I don't think it's anything to do with Berba wanting to go there. Even if he does want to go there, I think he's professional enough to stay put and stay happy if they don't match our valuation of him.

The only signs are from newspapers and ITKs... so I don't think you can really go any of them.

As far as I'm concerned, Berba is still a Tottenham player, and obviously one of our best, so I'm confident we'll keep hold of him.

I agree, its unnerving reading all of this toot, just picked up the standard at work and it says "£28m agreed for Berba" on the back page, which obvioulsy isn't true but its very stressful. Berba is a tottenham player, and no ITK or Journo can presuade me otherwise.

If its on the OS i'll believe it, until then i have my fingers in my ears.
