Would you like me to list all the ones that didn't work out?

I'm not going to, but I'll let you know that it's a loooooong list.

The odds are not in your favour.

But a lot have worked out and Spurs turned down Suarez in a January window when he was recommended to Harry by Ruud Gullit I seem to remember most of our recent failures cam in the Summer window btw

Oh no, no, no, no, no. Spurs most certainly didn't turn down Suarez, Redknapp did. I believe ITK suggested/stated that Levy had said he wanted, and would pay for Suarez. However, good old 'Arry decided that we didn't need Suarez, because we had VdV who, in 'Arry's opinion, was too similar to Suarez , so decided to pass up the opportunity to sign Uruguay's answer to Hannibal Lecter.

Yep, Suarez & VdV were identical in every way, and we'd have been stupid to sign Suarez. True story!! :cautious:

Off topic, but I'm watching the Albion game, and they're playing some sort of 4-2-1-3 formation with McClean, Rondon and Sessegnon up to. Who's pulling the strings "in the hole" you as? The passmaster that is Big Vic Anichebe.

To me, assets never have a fixed price tag/value.

The people that do have the asset in this case seemingly do have an idea of a fixed price - and should we want that asset, we have to pay that amount.

I expect it's higher than we are willing to pay.

So, "value is whatever a buyer will pay" is true to an extent, but that doesn't really help or justify any position here.

Newcastle player before the weekend. They'll pay double what we'll go to

I doubt it as its hardly a step up lets be honest even though the geordies think they are a big club they havent won a single trophy since the sixties hardly big time.

No, that would be Sherwood and Ferdinand who scouted Suarez. Then advised HR we don't need him as he's similar to VDV. Thank god those 2 clowns are out of the club. QPR employed Ferdinand as sporting director? Must be crazy!

I have very little doubt that he'll be with us in a week's time..

We're 4th, we have wanted him for a while, he's played with Kane, we are a young, football playing, side.
We may offer less than other teams but it would be a fairer reflection of his market value and, as long as a top four team don't come in for him, he'll only move to us.
I think Peace will quit while he is ahead and sell. Pulis would probably rather have the money now (and have a week or so to bring in others) or slightly more now than he'd get in the summer than drag things out playing silly buggers.

Yeah I remember that, though for some reason I thought it was because he was seen as too simlar to Defoe.

In a footballing sense, that is. Not in that way you're thinking.
