Just to put it in perspective.

I agree that we have cover (ish), but not having a back-up to a quality striker, who's already knackered, is madness imo.

I am not disputing that we need another striker but quite a few wide forwards in that list included as strikers. So for the interest of balance, Son should be included as well.

I might be mistaken but pretty sure Chadli and Eriksen outscored most of those 'strikers' last season; Alli is outscoring a lot of them this year; and Son looks like he's got all the tools to rack plenty of goals up too...

I can't see many 'strikers' there that I'd be any more confident starting for us than Chadli or Son to be honest. City aside I wouldn't take more than two from any of them (which should be noted also includes their first choice, and I prefer our first choice to all but Aguero). So really we aren't much less equipped than most, who would also mostly be screwed if their 1st choice was injured.

So many of that list includes players comparable to part-time striking options like Chadli or Son too, including some of the better ones like Firmino, Martial, and Walcott. Arsenal probably the only ones with decent depth because of Sanchez' goal threat. City still miss a worldy like Aguero.

still think SB would be a good fit but not so necessary to pay anything crazy for him at this point

Pearce is such an idiot they're gonna end up selling him to Newcastle for like 8m over the summer

Nothing's happening today but we have to trust Pochettino that Son and Chadli can be replacements for Harry. He sees them everyday and knows what they can do. Mauricio has gotten us so far, now we have to believe and trust him.

With the current level of the media and the attention surrounding Berahino we would know by now if he was potentially signing today.

If you have Walcott for Arsenal I'm not sure why we don't have Chadli and Son included in our list.

Because it doesn't suit the point he is making. Why use facts when you can simply ignore them and skew the world?

Even transfer windows are a roller-coaster at spurs, we look like we are going to do it then fall short. last min, least we have made a tidy profit this window and trimmed our squat a bit more, would like to have sold Fazio.

With the money coming in the summer and 2-3 clubs still after him, he will more than likely still go for 20 mill in the Summer. Prices are going to sky rocket

I really, really don't understand why this hasn't happened.

- Long term purchase in line with our transfer policy: Check
- Also fills a short-term need for a striker
- We were willing to pay much the same fee being asked today back in the summer
- Poch wanted him a couple of months ago, so probably no change there
- Player wants to come

The only reasonable explanation is that West Brom/Peace simply weren't prepared to sell for whatever their own reasons are. It doesn't really add up that this was a failing at our end.

Yep this one is over now - we'd of heard something surely by now if there was even negotiations still going on.

If Poch is happy I'm happy though.

I would feel a lot more confident about our ability to compete on all fronts with Berehino able to start Europa League games.
