Frankly I'd like this to be a reality. Really athletic for a CB (also plays LB) which is good for the high line, and I'll never forget the laser he scored against us in the Europa. One of the best goals I've ever seen scored against us.

Would prefer Nkoulou at Marseille, better on the ball & can organises a defence.. no surprise Marseille have struggled while he has been injured.. he's a really good all-rounder with no weakness to his game

Forget defenders being good on the ball...we need a rugged no nonsense quick sort that can reads the game blind folded, imposing in the air and ultra consistent leader.

That to me is so important we must do all we can to identify and get that CB that would partner and mould Dier.

Between Umtiti and N'Koulou, we could really get that awesome short defenders/aerial presence debate raging again.

How do they compare to Abdennour ?

Abdennour is a beast, whereas there was a fair bit of criticism the last time we were linked with him (very rash, prone to brain farts etc) from various sources re Umtiti's ability to play as a centre back.

Always thought he was overrated because of video games. Great athlete, but he still has plenty to work on.
