I'm guessing elotto will take over Gomes' job of interviewing the players on spurs TV

Satisfied? Being the insatiable type, never. I always want something extra. But overall, it's been a good window and let's hope we get Poch's targets next time.
I'm relatively happy with it too. I don't know enough about Fazio or Stambouli to make a judgment so it's all about seeing them in action. Rather than bringing in a big name, which would of course have got everyone excited, I am actually more excited about seeing Pochettino stamping his philosophy on the squad we have.

Yes

We addressed some serious problem areas, which we didn't in the past. If we had won the L'Pool, the mood on here would be very different. We've basically made a £30m signing in Lamela who has shown that he can be a really good player for us. We got some of our better players on new long term contracts.

We seriously need to stop looking at what everyone else did. Look at Man U, although they made some really big name expensive players, I still don't think they will improve that much this season. I can't see how LVG is going to fit some of those player into his system.

We all loved Sandro but he didn't really play that much since his injury. Let's put sentiments on a side for now and give Poch and the team our support. If the ITKs are to be believed, he is very happy with the squad and there may also already be deals in place for others signings in Jan.

Our squad is weaker than it was last season and our first team (given pochetino's system) is also weaker.

Add to that Adebayor goes to the African cup of nations.

And not factoring injuries.

A very poor window

The only player who clearly doesn't fit in the managers system (paulinho) is still here.

Happy. Poch needs time to work his magic. He now has a more manageable group to do that whilst identifying what he needs to bring in. He's not had long so always the risk of a knee-jerk signing which we have avoided. There should be some chances for youngsters that would not exist had we brought in a couple of first team upgrades. The likes of Cellabos may now compete with those playing for their futures like Townsend which will hopefully lead to better performance. By Jan Poch will have a better idea and that window and next summer should see us add further pieces to complete or almost complete the Poch puzzle. We were never going to be top 4 this season & are giving ourselves a chance to build for next year.

I'm happy with the signings and if you actually review the squad it's more balanced now .The big fact here that a lot of whiney people are missing out on is they are not the manager ,Poch is and he had time to review the players and so I am sure he was consulted before any departures .This would mean he didn't want Siggy, sandro or holtby and if you actually watched pre season you could see that .Add to this his continual talk of philosophy and you can only assume some players didn't fit in with what he wanted. As for Rodriguez and Schneiderlin I am sure we will be back in for the two in January .

People on here should stop complaining though and also stop assuming what Poch requested and what he needed ,these transfer Windows are a joke as everyone just seems to want the next shiny new player they can brag about. That happened loads last year and look what happened .Let Poch do his thing with what he has .

We stood still, treaded water, our rivals for CL all invested massively and bought serious quality

City and Chelsea are out of reach for years but if the board showed some balls and ambition there is no reason why we could not have slugged it out with Liverpool, Arsenal, Utd for CL but now even they are all out of reach for years, complete wasted opportunity

Lewis and Levy have shown this window that their ambitions do not match those of the fans so its time pressure was put on them to show some balls and spend the £100m it would take to get back to Arsenal/Liverpool/Utd levels or to sell to someone who would

We're certainly more balanced. Lots of punts, though, few nailed on successes, but then we're a bit of a 'have a punt' club. To dare is to do etc

Do you think Falcao would have come to us had we approached him? Di Maria?

We need to be realistic here as we've not yet proven to be a club that can get into the CL on a regular basis. L'Pool had a fall from grace and it took them some time to get back on top. During that time they didn't really sign any big name players besides Suarez. If you look at his record before signing some would say Soldado would be a better signing which as of yet is not the case.

For me, we didn't lose any important players. we don't have key players going to the press/social media saying they want out. Let's give Poch and the team time to show us what we can achieve and hopefully build from there. (y)

It's hard to see where we have improved overall. On the surface it appears we added Vorm as an afterthought because he appeared to be thrown in free with the Davies/Siggy deal because Swans didn't want to keep paying his wages. With Brad getting on we needed a cover and he's OK but isn't going to make a difference in how good or bad a challenge we make
Yedlin who knows if he was another "Khumalo" signing to keep lucrative markets more interested because we add a local player, or if he has potential, either way we won't know till January and then will need time to adapt, so rather irrelevant
Davies has to be an improvement as we had no lb option, but the worry is we still have Rose and Poch seems to prefer him. Dier looks a good young player even if his inexperience arguably cost a couple of goals, he just needs decent players around him in his early games
Trouble is with Eunice still struggling badly, Vlad still looking a long way from a PL CB, Verts still looking last seasons disappointing version rather than the previous seasons one we are left with hoping that Fazio can step up. Sadly I can't see him being a better CB than Daws for us. He'll have the benefit of a bit extra height and is aerially strong but he is neither pacy or agile so hardly suited to the high defensive line that was supposedly the reason we offloaded Daws. The difference being Daws has huge PL experience, knew the team, the team knew him and he was a good leader. Fazio will need to adjust and that will take time and a good CB partner to help him-will Verts get his act together and step up?
I really don't see we have really addressed the defensive weaknesses, Davies will help a bit if he's given a chance but we still have Rose, Naughton, Walker and Chiriches who are poor defensively and Eunice who we know can be a solid defender but sadly looks past being able to recover that pre injury form
Midfield we lost Sandro who I think will be badly missed, Holtby not a great player but an OK cover and though we added Stambouli who could prove a decent buy we still lack the quality playmaker we badly need
We lost Siggy, not the right fit for a starting place for us but a decent enough sub that offered something different and could add a few goals or assists and replaced with no one. We failed to get the quality LW/AML we need and still have the likes of Townsend and Chadli.
No striker changes when one decent addition would have improved our options particularly if Ade does make the ACN
Overall it's hard to see where we have improved, I think longer term Davies and Dier look good additions, Stambouli I don't know enough about but could prove an excellent buy. Fazio will strengthen our aerial weakness at the back but doesn't look the pacy, quality CB we really need to partner Verts
I don't think we have to pay fortunes every time to get the biggest names, sometimes it's more about the right fit but I think we missed out on a great opportunity to get both Griezmann and Garay who would have imo significantly improved our attack and defence

Gylfi Sigurdsson
Jake Livermore
Iago Falque

Well obviously we missed Welbeck and he went to Arsenal. I thought LF signing was necessary. But.. Here we are. So are you satisfied?

Let's put it this way. If you had asked me six months ago about these players, this is what I would have said.

Ben Davies. Not sure who he plays for but I think he is a defender?

Michel Vorm same as above but goalie
Eric Dier. Never heard of him

DeAndre Yedlin. Never heard of him
Federico Fazio. Never heard of him
Benjamin Stambouli. Never heard of him

I guess that says it all. Sounds familiar:) Capoue, Chadlie, lamella, Vlad,

Ben Davies- Good young left back.

DeAndre Yedlin- Looked good in the world cup, thats all I know of him.

Eric Dier- Looks good so far.

Federico Fazio- I just hope he adds some much needed steel.

Michel Vorm- Good keeper that I suspect will be our No1 next season when Lloris leaves.

Benjamin Stambouli- I hope he can protect the back four better than Capoue did on Sunday.

I just hope that Daniel Levy doesnt expect too much from Pochettino because that squad is lacking in certain areas.

I hope Fazio and Stambouli really improve the first team or else I think we are in for another season of getting smashed by the bigger teams.

It would have been nice to get Schneidelin for Pochettino.

Not the best window but certainly not the worst.

Good luck Pochettino because you are certainly going to need it trying to live up to Daniel Levys expectations.

I think it's clear we missed the main targets poch was after and had to settle for lesser options or wait until january (which seems like a bit of a red herring to me).

We just have to accept where our club currently is (sunday put things in perspective). This doesn't mean we can't improve and continue to beat clubs like QPR and west ham etc and hold a good position in the table/uefa etc.

Poch is the right manager for us but given past history with the managers I have little doubt that he will be sacked if he doesn't make the CL this season or next, if we want CL we have to give the manager the tools to do the job and we haven't

AVB and Sherwood were not backed in the transfer market yet were sacked for not getting good enough results, both were 6th at the time of their sackings so the same will happen with Poch, which would be a shame as he is a potentially great coach.

The board demand 4th but give the manager less to spend than teams facing relegation

Unfortunarely we all love / want a marquee signing.
However Poch has only been in the job a few months and I guess this is the first stage of his master plan by trimming the squad. Just hoping he has some kind of philosophy he can install into some of our players, cos it's needed.

Glad we have hung onto Vlad, Soldado and Dembele.
Not happy to lose Sandro for a paltry 6m. I have a sneaky suspicion he'll return to full form.
Gutted if Townsend was the key to a deal for Schneiderlin or J Rod and we wouldn't let him go.
Optimistic about Stambouli.
Unsure about Fazio.
Not surprised at Holtby.

Overall I guess it has evened out but we could have strengthened significantly and missed the boat yet again.

I couldn't give a toss about a marquee signing - all that I wanted was the manager to be backed. He wanted 3 signings Musacchio, Shnerderlin and Rodriguez and was given none of them!

Yes.

Brick by brick, It's a long process. We didn't sell any key players and strengthened our main weakness. Poch is a 'coach', I am excited to see how he can improve our players before we make any major adjustments. Top 4 was never a target for this season.
5 year plan yeh ? Zzzzzzzz

I'm not satisfied as I think on paper our squad looks 7th best while the teams below us are actually looking better so it won't be as easy to take points of them.

One thing I'd like is for the club to explain our last 2 windows, all the media made out about our £100m spending last summer but I’m pretty sure we made more than we spent. And the same with this summer. So are we not spending big money because all that money is going into the stadium/training ground?
