Not sure where to put this, so I'm posting it here instead. Huntelaar was linked in december/january with a move to Juventus because he's rumoured to be unhappy with life in Germany. Schalke were reluctant to let him go and since then he's gone on a bit of a goal drought. I think if Spurs were to go in for him in the summer he would jump at the gun to join you.

Abel Hernandez(Palermo)

Mentioned him on here probably a year ago, think he's a massive talent. He's been injured this season but will be looking to get back into the Palermo side, very raw but has all the attributes to become a top striker.

Palermo seem to have a lot of talented players on their books. Maybe we should get their chief scout/DOF

Lee Grant, 28 year old Burnley keeper, had a cracking game over the weekend. Some of those saves were magnificent.

With Carlo getting a wee bit old, I'd certainly not object to him being our back-up keeper if he can perform like that consistently.

Anyone seen a bit more of him?

Ivo Ilicevic (Kaiserslautern, Croatia)

24-year-old attacking midfielder. Best suited on either side of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2.

A good talent who struggled to make an impact over the last couple of seasons. He stood out for the Croatian NT during his time with the U21's.

While he enjoyed success at U21 NT level, he didn't really get an opportunity at Bochum (they were in the Bundesliga at the time) and kept getting loaned out. While he showed flashes, inconsistency and injuries plagued him. After a couple of seasons on loan to 2.Bundesliga clubs he was purchased by Kaiserslautern in 2010 (for 500.000 euros).

Last season he helped them gain promotion and this is turning out to be his breakout year.

2010/11:

17 games: 5 goals, 6 assists.

Bayern Munich
reportedly tried to sign him on the last day of the January transfer window but were rebuffed by Kaiserslautern who fear potential relegation to 2.Bundesliga. ( http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussb...vic/darum-wollte-bayern-den-lautern-star.html ). It is believed that Bayern will be back in for the player in the summer.

He's a quick, direct player. Good dribbler. Powerful shot with both feet. Becoming a regular with the NT and I can see him claiming/securing a starting spot. Started last night's friendly against the Czech Republic (scored a 40 yarder following Cech's blunder).

An interesting player who took a while to make the break through.

Edit: A couple of interesting bits of information, that both add to what I already wrote, but also reveal his potential availability and cost:

According to TZ and BILD, Bayern were interested in signing Ivo Ilicevic and everything when according to plan until the last minute when FCK chairman cancelled the deal. Ilicevic is seing as a perfect replacement for Ribéry or Robben in case of injury. Apparently, negotiations on the player will continue to be an issue in the summer.
The croatian has a contract-clause release of 4 million € and Bayern might save that money negotiating with the player on the summer. The player has contract until 2012 but dosen't want to extend with FCK. This might work for Bayern in either getting him for free in 2012 or getting him for 1.500.000 € which is less than half of his contract clause.

As I mentioned earlier on in this thread Eriksen from Ajax. Best player on the pitch against England in the first half. Rumour going around that the Mickey's are after him

Like the look of Iker Munain at Bilbao, still very young but reminds me of Tevez the way he plays and his build.

Anybody seen much from Senegal and Lille's CF Moussa Sow?

He was signed at the beginning of this season after a statistically indifferent spell at Rennes and is the current top scorer of ligue 1 with 16 goals in 20 appearances. He's part of an exciting forward line that also includes Eden Hazard and Gervinho

Seen him play once and he made a real pigs ear out of an easy chance. Put clean through, boaring down on goal he acted rashly and sliced his shot wide. Been heavily linked with Bolton.

Mathieu Bodmer

I had written him off at the start of the season, but his form
this season has been very consistent. No surprise really as he has been playing in his favoured central position for most of the season rather than wasting his obvious talents in defence. Delighted for him as injury was threatening to ruin his career.

A class act

Christian Fuchs

One of the most underrated left backs in Europe who has been in sensational form all season. Would make a perfect under study or replacement for Assou Ekotto. He's tall for a full back, but is strong in defence and in attack, good crosser and is dangerous from set plays.

Marcel Schmelzer

Arguably the best left back in Europe right now. Hope he stays at Dortmund (My second team) for many years.

Dinpomp what are your thoughts on Spehar?

Haven't seen enough of him personally to give a full assessment, but he's obviously talented. Bayern's main scout was again present on the weekend and told Osijek's president (who also happens to be the player's father) that they'll come back in 2 weeks with a concrete offer. Their initial offer was 300.000 euros last summer (before the player even became a professional). Dinamo Zagreb actually offered something more than 1m euros in January, but that was also rejected.

From what I have seen, in addition to what I've read/been told from others, he's an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. What sets him apart is that when he gets in goal scoring situations he finishes like a striker. Other attributes which help him stand-out at his age group are his intelligence and quick decision making. He's also said to have a good character.

For Osijek he's mainly been used behind the strikers in a 4-3-1-2.

Because he tends to score a lot of goals you'll often see him incorrectly identified as a striker in reports, but he's not.
