It's quite nice to see David Silva get more and more used to the Premiership (from a neutral point of view!). He's a fantastic player and his ball control and retention is identical to Modric's. City should build their attack around him.

He looks good doesn't he. Can't believe O'Neil didn't think he'd have a future
in the game.

I don't claim to have seen much of him. But some of his quick play, movement and use of the ball just made me think of scholes. Even half his talent and he will go a long way in the game

I went to cardiff and ipswich today. Jay Emmanuel Thomas was a class above today. I don't think he even gave the ball away. Was unlucky not to score. Was very skillful and players seemed to bounce of his massive frame in challenges. Shame he's with the arse but this kids got a decent future ahead of him.

Ivan Perisic (Club Brugge, Croatia) is another player worthy of a look. 21-year-old attacking midfielder. Can play in any midfield spot in a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3. Has also been used as an emergency striker on a couple of occasions. He'll surely get a call-up by Bilic soon (recently played for the U21's).

I didn't want to just post every talented Croatian that comes along, but today he's been linked with Napoli, Everton and Fulham (but with a potential summer move).

2009/10:

50 games: 16 goals, 14 assists (all from midfield).

Scored a lot of important goals, particularly in the Europa League.

2010/11
:

20 games: 11 goals, 7 assists.

In their last game before the winter break they won 5-0 with Perisic scoring 4 and assisting on the other.

He plays quick, can shoot/cross with both feet and attacks the ball really well (good in the air).

It was just a matter of time before he started to generate more talk.

Ivan Perisic update.

2010/11:

25 games: 14 goals, 8 assists.

His goal from yesterday (running past Steven Defour):

He's almost 100% certain to be leaving Club Brugge this summer. Been linked with Valencia, Sevilla, Everton, Fulham, Napoli, Monaco and has personally acknowledged interest from several Bundesliga clubs.

^^^ In Dutch, but another Croatian (and former Club Brugge) player, Ivan Leko, told the Belgium media that Srna, Pletikosa and Kranjcar talked to him after the last NT match and told him that Perisic was outstanding. That after only 2 training sessions he already impressed them greatly.

Leko went on to say that he's sure Perisic will end up at one of Europe's top clubs one day.

Caicedo is having the season of his life over at Levante. Always thought he seemed to have very good raw attributes a la Altidore, and was unlucky at the stage at which things progressed in terms of signings at City. Could be worth a look as a different option instead of Gameiro, Kalinic or some of the others people have been mentioning.
I also still personally like Derdiyok as a player, but he appears to have plateaued slightly due to the impressive form of Sidney Sam at Leverkusen.

Has anyone else been really impressed with Lewandowski as well this season? Looks like another bit of great business by Dortmund.

Tsavellas had another eye-catching game for Frankfurt this weekend. He's lightning and showed a few cracking bits of skill to skip past players into danger areas. One run from almost his own half ended in the box and he could easily have been given a penalty. He then proceeded to nut the offending defender.

He's rock hard and having a revelatory season. Would be a very decent option to back up Benny.

From today's mirror (at the bottom of the Vucinic article):

Tottenham are also looking at midfielder Ivan Perisic of Belgium's Club Brugge, but Lille and Monaco are tracking him too.

Just watching the City game tonight reminded me, I've always been impressed with Milevskiy when I've seen him. More than a little of the Berbatovs about him. I think if he was given less freedom than he does at Kyiev, (he's just allowed to wander), I think he'd get more goals as well.

If come the summer none of Llorente, Cavani or Benzema are realistic, I think we should be looking at him, Toivonen and Lewandowski/ Derdiyok as young'uns.

Yeah, he's right footed. But he can shoot/cross with both feet. He's actually one of the few players you'll see who has taken a free-kick both right and left footed.

Great potential. Mentioned him In January, but think it might be a bit early for him to leave Germany.

That's phenomenal I sincerely hope that we are doing all we can to bring this guy to our club.
He has everything needed to be a top Premiership player.

He's second now in the goal scoring race, 1 behind Vossen.

That's a good rate for a midfielder, regardless of the league.

Vossen is another who merits a good look. He's having a lovely season. Would be very interesting to see how he went in the EPL.

I'm going to be keeping an eye on the young lad who came on for Birmingham at the weekend, Nathan Redmond. He looked to be quick, had a few tricks and he seemed to be able to deliver a good ball. He also got a good flick on for Phillips' goal.

Tottenham are poised to make a £6m move for Croatia's set-piece specialist Ivan Perisic.

Perisic, 22, has been one of the star performers for Brugge in the Belgian League this season and has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his midfield and has sent scouts to see the talented player in action.

Perisic has already scored 14 goals in just 25 games and reports in Belgium suggest that he would favour a move to the Premier League.

Brugge will want a sizeable fee for their star asset as Perisic has a contract with the club until 2015.

Lille and Monaco have also been tracking his progress, but Tottenham look the strong favourites to clinch his signature at the end of the season.

A Brugge source said: "We are ready to negotiate a move in June."

*****

As I already noted above, he's almost 100% certain to leave in the summer.

It's also 16 goals in 26 games.
