I'm 251 and there is at least plenty of noise - as there's loads of moaning, groaning and swearing at our own players. My favourite is a guy who repeatedly shouts "just fucking do something!" which isn't massively helpful but is somewhat understandable.

I was Paxton lower at WHL and we decided to go south lower in the new stadium to have a bit more atmosphere and for some games - arsenal at the end of last season for example - it's been incredible. However, for most it's been a lot of really angry blokes who've had too much to drink, too much marching powder, or both venting loudly.

To be fair the football has largely been woeful so I'm hoping a change of management might help.

v true, a lot of angry shouting that crosses the line. Guy next to my called Son a useless **** repeatedly vs man u along with other racial slurs…lovely bloke….

Both in south stand was about 3/4 up atmosphere was good. In the standing section it’s like a morgue.

Yeah it’s shit, I’m in there. But there’s 4 of us and to move all 4 in a row to decent seats is i possible so we are stuck.

Im block 251 standing section, atmosphere is mostly dead.
Sadly, the atmosphere is hit and miss. Mainly miss this season. In my view it is due to a number of factors. The contributing factors are lack of Saturday 3pm football, late night Saturday and Sunday games, the ticket exchange and the spasmodic spread of the core singing supporters. In the 70’ and 80’s the hardcore supporters and singers used to bunch together and create the atmosphere and it would spread out from there. Unfortunately the core supporters are spread about the south stand. This leads to disjointed singing. This isn’t a problem for an Arsenal game as everyone wants to sing and join in the atmosphere. But a home game like wolves in its back to the pockets of fans trying to creat the atmosphere. I’m in block 250 and the usual crowd beside me comes from Stoke ( yer I know but there are loads of them and they usually go home and away). However, the football has been that poor that the thought of a shit journey to watch the crap that has been dished up this season has taken it’s toll and they have listed their tickets on the exchange. This means you get either nobody taking the seat, casual supporters or the worst being tourists. I have nothing against casual or tourist support but if you put them in the areas where your hardcore support should be you end up with a poorer atmosphere. Compound this across all the south stand principle blocks and it’s no wonder we have the atmosphere we have. The South Stand is meant to be our wall of sound but it is bound to be ineffective because of the above. When you look at all the major European clubs and premiership clubs with atmosphere all their core support are together and there are no gaps. Great stadium as it is with all the thought and sound design that went into it the club gave no thought to how they were going to get their core “ultras” singing supporters together. Not sure how you change it now as the horse has bolted. Maybe have the South Stand as a first served basis and log your seat position once you are in the ground. Obviously the ticket exchange is great for the individual supporter to get some cash back when they cannot get to a game but it does not create the right atmosphere. i must say that apart from the crap dished up on the pitch my biggest disappointment since moving to the new stadium has been the atmosphere in the South Stand. If any of you have been to an away game you will know as I do that it is far more enjoyable to be part of than the South Stand.

That’s interesting. I’m about 3/4 of the way up 451 and the atmosphere is pretty good. Was thinking of relocating to safe standing as I’m by myself but perhaps I won’t bother if it’s crap. I’m surprised that it’s so quiet there.
The only benefit I have found is I can sell my ticket on the exchange easily if I can’t make a game. Further up used to be a struggle.

I managed to move 3 last season from south upper to south lower. It’s definitely possible as we had a few options, worth a try if you’ve submitted the form.

Tbf I’m not sure there’s a section with a consistently good atmosphere, they should’ve had the away fans closer to the south stand like it was at the old whl.

I'm 252, row 6. Atmosphere is okay... but lately it's been a bit toxic. If the team are actually trying, then it's pretty good.. when Dire does a Dire like he has been recently, then yeah it gets pretty angry - myself included, can't lie! :censored:

I miss the lane..... all of the people around me in the Paxton had a similar outlook on the games - and it wasn't always amazing football

Now I'm stuck in a section with tourist fans and angry fans (even when we're winning easily they moan about where an opposition player takes a throw in from, like who gives a fuck, not like we don't also do the same thing)

I'm considering not renewing for the first time in 30 years because it's no fun being amongst these imbeciles

Did you report him? No tolerance for that at all, but also no place for staying silent about it

I'm 252, row 4 and feel exactly the same.
Also there are so many different faces every game, which has an adverse effect on the atmosphere.

Going to be lots of spare seats tomorrow. I saw a row of eight available in block 256 behind the goal on the exchange earlier!

My renewal came in at full adult price even though I am now 66, the club have said that they are keeping a balance of ticket types around the stadium. They have said that I can try to move my seat somewhere else where there might be a concession available even though they can’t guarantee it. I am in block 512 which has always been a concession area, yet they can’t allow one more OAP in there. I would be interested to know if all supporters who reach pension age are faced with moving away from all their friends / family if they want to try to get a concessionary seat.
What happens to all the junior season ticket holders’ seats who become adults ?

Disgusting frankly, sorry for you but not surprised, just bare faced profiteering these days. As you say, I bet they don’t care about ‘balance’ when a junior ticket becomes a full paying adult seat.

Personally I can blame our fans, they create the atmosphere. I got punched cos I stood up to people going on about how shit Emerson was. Then we sing his name…sadly I don’t think our fans are innocent
