Season Ticket Renewal Thread (Read first post)

Do people think there will be mass non renewals this year? Seen loads of people on Twitter saying they’re giving it up. Everyone I know in ‘real life’ is renewing.

My experience too. A lot of people like a good moan and then quietly renew muttering ‘one more year etc’.
One of our group who travels from Liverpool did not renew last year and really regrets it as he finds it difficult to get tickets now, and could have sold most of his on ticket exchange for the ones he didn’t want to come to.

also those that don’t renew SHOULD if they are true to their word not have a membership either so there only chance is general sale which rarely happens. When levy goes they will have to rejoin and would be way down the ST list

if there is a few the relocations will be interesting hopefully

The irony is you don’t punish anybody except yourself, your seat will be taken quick enough.

Most will succumb to it and renew and even if they don't there are enough on the waiting list to not make a difference. I suspect we'll announce Slot before the renewal deadline and his introductory interview will make us all feel warm and fuzzy inside like it's Poch 2.0 and anyone who was on the fence will renew.

Can't find a thread on memberships, so this was as close as i can find.

I was umming and ahing about renewing my membership, the news this morning has made up my mind.

I've had enough. I can't justify the cost of going to games, and more importantly I haven't enjoyed it at all for the last couple of seasons.

Despite renewals not being til the 31st May, I've just logged in to cancel and it says I'm too late.

Anyone know if I can just cancel the direct debit?

Yes you can. Get onto your bank and cancel it.
know how you feel to be honest. I like many others just can’t give it up unfortunately.
I am still convinced that one day someone will get it right but it’s going to take a while to get back after the appalling management from the top lately.

That was my thinking of what I'd do this time yesterday but they're really gonna have to pull something out of the hat to bring me back to that thinking in six days.

I shouldn't be, but I'm amazed at how poorly my post aged in less than half a day. I've had a season ticket for ~20 years and I feel like the only reason I'll be pushed to renew is that I'm too scared of not being able to get one again for ages. In truth, I've no hope in the club's future and no interest in going; I can make my money back off the exchange but I want to make the symbolic gesture and drop it altogether.

It would be quite interesting to know how many ST holders didn’t renew post Covid - wouldn’t surprise me if it’s quite a few thousand

No doubt it’ll be in the high hundreds this season
If the model is to bring in new supporters who’ll spend more in the shop and on matchdays then they’re doing a great job

The problem is the more legacy fans you lose the more heart, soul & history you lose

Plus the new ST holders won’t put up with half the shit the old lot used to!

Just thought I'd share something that happened last summer. One of the guys I go with decided not to renew meaning the seat next to mine became available. I got a phone call from the club asking me if I knew anybody who'd be interested in it! Seemed a bit weird given we've supposedly got tens of thousands on the waiting list.

I renewed mine yesterday. Good job I didn’t put it off another day because I probably still wouldn’t have renewed it.

Not going to renew. Shame as it’s a great seat with a pretty noisy bunch of people but really can’t afford it now with flights, hotel etc. Probably get a membership and try my luck there.

Where do you travel from then?. I guess those flights from Argentina can be a bit pricey!.
