That may have been our best set piece performance of the season today. It seems to me that we must have put a lot more into practising them this week than we have done previously. That's great. It almost made the difference against Chelsea and on another day with a bit more luck it would have done.

Just got to keep it up now. Don't want to go back to the same old shit from the next game. Swansea have a small team so if we can deliver a similar standard next week then we'll have a good chance of making something of it. That extra string to our bow could make the difference.

Spot on :clap::clap::clap::clap:

For the first time in ages, we actually looked dangerous at some of our set pieces today.

Bale hit the bar!

Forced Cech into a good save aswell.

Gallas had a free header.

They've blatently been reading SC! LOL

Mata's free kick wasnt the worst either.

Much much better during the game yesterday.

Let's hope they continue that for the rest of the season...could be the difference between Champions League and Europa.

I saw MOTD today and didn't realise that it was Modric who crossed for Bale's header against the bar from the corner. Miraculous! Modric can take a decent corner, who'd have thought it.

Need to keep this better standard up though, as others have said

The commentators all game were saying how poor our kicks were but I didn't feel the same, they weren't great but I felt they were at least giving the players in the box a bit of a chance to attack them. Maybe they were shit but just not extremely shit like usual

Was delighted to not see Modric anywhere near any of them.

I thought our corners were better tonight, didn't King have a good header as well...

The comms might be right in isolation, although VDV put in a dangerous ball 7 or 8 times out of 10 for me, but compared to how our set pieces have been for ages, there is a marked contrast in the quality.

Almost as if it was something virtually ignored and suddenly we've started practising them again. That's how stark the upturn in quality has been.

He did, I think that was from a cross though, maybe, can't greatly remember, I also think King should have scored too.

And yea it does seem like we've only suddenly started working on them, it really does. We've seen how important they can be first hand tonight. Yes we dominated the game but in the end we needed a goal from a corner to benefit from our dominance.

I tear did fall from my eye tonight.

Not only were our Corners great! But we actually scored from one...and threatened from others! IMMENSE.

In all seriousness you have to realise that Savage and the commentators all said how the corners were not very good today, but we ALL recognise that they were amazing compared to the usual.

Just shows how bad it has actually been!

that's exactly how I felt, couldn't understand why the commentators were slating our corners - it's all relative I guess....

finally... Finally... FINALLY... FINALLY we look dangerous from set pieces...

frankly our corners have been pretty rubbish as of late, i say at least 50% of them either couldn't beat the first man, or are played too long for anyone.

the verdict is still yet to be out on freekicks around the box thou... hopefully someone with more finesse, not a pop shot by kaboul/BAE.
