I think he deserves his own thread

It seems that he is already our third striker behind kane and janssen, not bad for a 19 years old

And he scores a goal against inter, a (lucky) assist for Lamela against Juve

I think he is an exciting player, but it seems that we all focus on CCV or Edwards instead

It's hard to keep up with the sheer quantity of young players coming through the system. I blame Poch for this absolute mess of a situation !

PS Long may this mess continue !!

My fav story about Shayon involved Poch and McDermott

From the Pomona College visit that John McDermott did

I LOVE THIS: We have a player right now called Shayon Harrison who is pretty good and trains with the first team, Pochetinno came over to John and said ‘John, Shayon is lazy’ just loud enough so Shayon would hear him. Shayon came knocking on John’s door later asking him what that was about. John told Shayon that Poch has worked with Veron/Maradona, he played a year with Aguero, he trains everyday with Kane- Poch’s frame of reference is so high that he is not saying you are actually lazy but when he is comparing you it can be deemed mediocre.

Obviously wants to impress the managers and coaching staff, seems driven to the best.

If he's left to do his job in relative 'obscurity' because people are concentrating on teammates such as CCV or Edwards, that might be a good thing. We've probably all seen players in their teens or early 20s hyped beyond reasonable levels who are discarded by the time they're 23/24 or so.

Would be nice if we can give him a chance in the league cup and FA cup. A chance is sometimes all a player needs to get confidence and start scoring.

Look at Rashford, probably unites 4th/5th choice striker. Mini injury crisis and an injury in the warm up and he's playing for England. If, as it seems, he's 3rd choice, a knock to Harry or Janssen and he'll be on the bench and, well, anything can happen. Showed today he knows how to score and his pressing was great. Poch will see him every day. If Poch thinks he's ready, he's ready.

After being spoilt rotten with our youth coming through, it looks like next season could see Onomah, Winks, CCV and Harrison getting even more embedded into the first team setup with Edwards also staying about the place.

Rashford also never made the England youth for his age group as he was behind Solanke, Armstrong, Abrahams, Harrison and 1 or 2 other players for that position and considering he only got 1 goal in 8 matches at U21, makes it understandable why he never got called up for england

Harry Kane is probably the best example of that, if Soldado had worked out ok or Ade could have been bothered then I think there was a very real chance he would never have got a proper chance

He's also mostly been a winger moreso than a striker.

In fact he may end up being back in a wide forward postition again as his career moves forward.

The worst story ever.

Guy says someone is lazy. That guy asks why he said that. The end.

To whom would you compare him to as a player ? I've not seen a lot of him.

I don't think Ive ever seen Harrison play out wide - he struggled at first to get game up front as Akinayde (spelling) was preferred though Harrison when he played was a much better finisher but his all round game was a little lacking. That's improved and he knows where the goal is He played a bit in central midfield and he can play a bit but its not his strength and for me he is certainly not a wide man

To be totally honest I have a few reservations about him - yes he is decent footballer and a good finisher but the rest of his game for me is a bit below what you need - he is not really quick he is not the best at bringing others into the game though that's improving and his all round game is a bit neither here nor there A third striker might work for him I don't see that there will be lots of loan enquires for him at this time but who knows

I'm talking about Rashford.

My comment was in reply to someone talking about Rashford, but I see it may be confusing, so apologies.

he's played off the right a few times when sterling or loft have played up top but wasn't particularly effective there. if he's to play wide then i think playing from the left like yesterday would suit him better, i know inverted wide players are the in-thing but i think he's better doing his work off the ball like a son/walcott/pedro type wide forward rather than getting on the ball and being asked to beat players.
