@FinnYid and the rest, why don;t you all call a truce now? it's not getting anyone anywhere, you are all going round and round in circles
At the end of the day most people know the media have a bias, Harry was given a pass for a lot of the stupid shit he used to say because he was their mate and always available for a good soundbite, Sherwood is getting the same kind of free ride because pundits like Jamie Redknapp, merson etc see him as one of them. AVB would have been slaughtered by the press if he said the same stuff Sherwood has.
With that in mind I think even if a media shitstorm started because we sacked an interim manager who can't keep his mouth shut, which i don't think it would, im happy we could weather it and it wouldn't be as damaging as keeping him in charge for a second longer than necessary.
FinnYid you should write a help book called
"An answer for everything"
Its a guide on how to ignore opinions and logic. It only works on this forum and thread but I think you'll be able to sell a couple of books.
He's gone. Three more games and he's gone. Three more weeks, three more games.
I don't understand the rush to get rid and I don't see the point of it either. Even the press are (laregely) expecting it to happen when the season is over.
Three more games and that's it. Why are people so desperate for their pound of flesh? The season will end, Sherwood will get his P45 and the next man will be announced in due course. Then we can settle down for a summer of fruitless transfer speculation, watching the world cup and wondering who the next fall guy will be.
Come October we'll have a nice shiny new 'so and so out' thread and we can do it all to ourselves again.
And again the puppetmaster should not be criticised.
It doesn;t normally bother me, and I try to stay away from this thread, but then every other thread decends into an anti Tim thread to and it ends up like this one.Wouldn't SC be closed down if we stopped people from going round and round in pointless circles? It's what this place was built on!
You mean Levytime?Don't forget as well the mad scramble at the jumble sale aka last day of transfer window searching for last minute bargains at rock bottom prices we wait in anticipation and excitement.
Is that a yes or a no?
No point sacking him certainly for the sake of three games. But confirming that he won't be here at the end of the season would just make everyone feel better. Probably even Tim.
You mean Levytime?
So based on your twisted logic, if someone took over Spurs for one game and Spurs won, then that person is statistically the best manager Spurs has in history?
I don't agree with that mate. I think if Shitwood hasn't been told by now that he's gone then he will be the manager next season. I don't think the club needs to come out and say that in public just to appease a few fans.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least 6-8 agents have knocked on Baldini's door to ask WTF is going on and no doubt the players know what the situation is.
I guess patience is what's needed now and if the players can keep a lid on their emotions towards him, come the end of the season they'll either be happy he's gone or happy to get a transfer
Oh please don't agree with @talkshowhost86 your life will never be the same again, you will decend into a constant orgy of leather clad dwarves writhing round in jelly whilst the oompah loompah song is playing on a loop in the background!!I agree with TSH and mattstev.. FinnYidd I notice, switches freely between 'caretaker' and 'interim' - caretaker being a term that suggests someone acting with a sensitivity to the situation, i.e. taking care of said situation to preserve some stability - not coming across as a rent-a-gob hell bent on uprooting anything or anyone that's 'not for him' in a scorched earth policy at the first chance. He clearly does not see himself as a caretaker in any way so we need to stop justifying him in those terms. So do you like Tim's projected future for the club or not? For me, we're already the Tim Sherwood show - just as he likes it - and he's only been managing a few months. I don't see enough in the performances to suggest he is making us improve enough to compete at the top, and his comments particularly around 'technical mismatches' and so forth, which have been completely undermined in the last few days, don't suggest an ambition we can buy into, but strongly suggest a guy devolving any responsibility for failure onto his players. Which is all very Tim, and all very very poor if he is supposedly a 'caretaker'... and conversely doesn't seem like a new 'project' that we can all get behind frankly.
As long as the players know what's going on then yes that's enough.
