Ricky Ponting was fined 40% of his match fee for arguing with the decision of the match referee. Ponting was charged with a Level 1 offence under article 2.1.3 (h) of the code which relates to "arguing or entering into a prolonged discussion with the umpire about his decision".
We all know referees in all sports can get things wrong but they are the law of the game at the time and once a decision has been made then it should be stuck to.
Respect in football is dead. Players are often seen using foul and abusive language to a ref - this happens at all levels.
I know cricket has the advantage of video and other technology, where a third umpire can review an incident and give a decision that is not based on a split-second view.
Should football all introduce this; Technology and match fines for Code of Conduct breach?
