I can see City and Chelsea kicking it up a notch now!

Every year Arsenal over turn the lead we have on them!

Well I like to see them do it this season!;)

We can turn the 8 point gap between us and arsenal and I love it if we could do it. They got to go Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea, US, Southampton and Hull away none of the easy ground while we have Liverpool, Hull and Chelsea away. We should be doing better at home I honestly believe we can overturn the lead on them.

I think City, Chelsea, and the Arse are nailed on for the top 3. After that Liverpool and Everton are my main concerns. Although United have Van Persie to come back and have money to spend this window. I'm desperately hoping we can beat those three to 4th.

If we didn't have so many injuries i'd be more positive. As it is, 5th or 6th is about where I think we'll finish.

I think we are still in with a shout, specially top 4, but I'm not sure T.Sherwood was the right man for a title chase. I guess top 4 is still achievable!
I personally think that we will be top 5 and Europa is again on the cards.
I hope we try and win the Europa and top 4 at the same time.

Your analyses???

It seems the most likely outcome doesnt it. Its still such untested waters that whenever i try and think logically about what is going to happen i come up with a blank.

We need a lot of our moving parts to click together for us to go on a run and put some pressure on the teams above us. Something i fear even an experienced manager may struggle to do well enough to sneak a top 4 finish

Our goal difference alone means not a hope in hell we will get 4th. I have already filed this season under, "Another 12 months of dissapointment"

If we get a points tally lower than the third place team and higher than the fifth place team then the goal difference doesn't really matter does it.

That said, we aren't getting fourth.

Agreed, if there were only 5 teams in contention, but last time I looked there are 7 or 8, just don't see it.

If we came anywhere near to having a title push (we won't..) I can see Sherwood having a Keegan style meltdown, it wouldn't be pretty... and we'd have to see sit on highlight shows/reviews/funny clip compilations for the next 15 years and endure the embarrassment. For that reason only, I officially rule Tottenham out of the title race!

If the last few weeks are anything to go by City are just going to get better and better, I think they will win it by a good few points. Chealsa while playing well still aren't totally convincing and Arsenal, well I just always hope they will tire, their squad just isn't big enough.

I agree with BC that we aint anywhere near being in the tital race despite the points differencial, the only thing that could see us gain ground in the next month is the CL ties. All the top 3 have very difficult games and we all know a bad result in Europe can carry on into the league, will deffinitely be an intresting run in as our last 6 games are all winable, we are certainly favourites in them.

No chance are we in the title race, cannot see it one bit. I'm not too convinced whether we'll get top 4 either unless our injury problems are resolved and we find a purple patch.

I think 5th or 6th is realistc, we should finish above United this season I reckon. In all honest I'm not sure whether I want Europa again next year. It's nice to win a trophy, the game is about glory after all, but we tend to just end up going out in the knockout stages at some point. I think Liverpool and Everton have benefited from not having the extra games to worry about.

We're currently 6th and the 5 teams above us all probably playing better than us at the moment.

I think we'll do very well to come higher than 5th but here's hoping.

I love people's optimism but we are simply not good enough to finish above City, Arse or Chelsea imo.

So that leaves fourth and means we have to finish above Liverpool, Everton and Utd. We can definately do it but if Everton stay injury free they won't fade away and If Suarez stays fit and RVP and Rooney fire for Utd its going to be tough.

That's why we need another striker imo

The only reason they are including us is because they have to if they include United, and they will always include United.
