After watching the Hans Christian Anderson antics of Sky Sports News over the past couple of weeks, I have come to the conclusion they must be the least informed sports channel in the country. If you believed their news headlines, we would have signed a new team over the past couple of weeks :) What do you guys think?

It will be against the previous regime's principles if we sign Gilberto, 31 years old, shows me that Ramos is stamping his authority on any new signings at the lane, he sees that he needs some experience sprinkled amongst all the young promising talent we have at the lane, Lennon (20) Boeteng (21) O'Hara (21) Bale (17) Rose (18) they need to learn the game, and who better than the current Brasilian left back (Ramos loves Brasilians). I love it :)

The previous regime's principles? You mean, Jol was against us signing older players?

I think not.

We're paying fuck all, comparatively for Gilberto (assuming he signs). It's Woodgate that's the big departure from previous policy.

And yeah, SSN is shit.

I'm glad you've realised! They're a shambles. What do you expect from a Murdoch organ? Responsible journalism?

Anything conected with Murdoch follows the rules of political reform. Put the least relevent thing in the title or logo:

The Sun - We love it! No, really we don't.

Fox News - Fair & Balanced. You're f****** kidding right?

Sky Sports News. Obviously they work from a different definition of the word 'news'

As far as Wye-Eye Sports News goes what do you expect. Today they headlined the appointment of Wise as "not DOF" of Newcastle over our 7m capture of Woodgate. This was after anouncing Arsenal were buying him this morning.

And as for your "change of policy" I don't think you'll find many top sides signing players 31+. But we have brought in the likes of Naybet and Davids in recent seasons. I think if you think it through you'll realise that when an older player of real top notch quality that could genuinly be judged to offer something has been available we have been prepaired to bring them in.

I feel really let down by SSN over the last few weeks. Their breaking stories were one of the few we could rely on to be true, but now they've given in to rumour, sensationalism and their own ITK'ism (Sky Sports Sources understand Jonathan Woodgate is currently hiding 8 bags of cocaine up his arsehole, which he plans to sell to little babies on Tottenham High Road)

The Puyol thing on Friday summed it up. Complete and utter bullshit.

It's still on for about 20 hours a day in my house though

the media gives us what we want - juicy gossip to keep us coming back for more. if we had to wait for completed transfers only to be announced the transfer window would be boring as hell. I for one enjoy checking in Rivals and SSN every morning for tidbits I know are more likely than not baloney.

It's the old thing isn't it - same as talksport - lots of people say it's rubbish but keep tuning in - I don't rate either SSN or talksport - never tune into either of them

I far prefer trawling the net for info and debate - but that's me - others are different -

admittedly if I was driving a car couldn't do that - but I'd honestly prefer listening to a CD rather than talksport or an audio version of SSN - (obviously get a quick bit of 5 live news or whatever on the hour if there's a breaking story - I'm not that immune :)

Have a look at Setanta Sports news as a refreshing option.

I do get a bit pissed of with the fact that if something isn't being shown on SS1,2 or 3, it's never reported.
Example when Spurs play Manure, not on Sky and Wigan play Little Stumbling on the Wold on SS1, we never get a mention.
Plus I also get miffed with that pontificating bunch of hacks who appear on a Sunday morning and 'discuss' the important football issues of the week.
Manure, Chelski, Asre, Liverpool, England, and not much else.
Bollocks.

There was a time when the information they reported was fairly reliable, but these days they tend to report whatever they feel like. They have no credibility currently.

hahaha! how ever stupid a lot of the stories and the headlines are on SSN, we all know we love it!!

I think it was last Thursday or Friday when they announced in the evening that the Taigo deal was off which had alerted a number of other premiership clubs. 20 minutes later they come back on and say spurs must have been watching because now they have renewed their interest and then spent the next hour saying that becasue of sky sports news the deal for Tiago is back on!! haha!

Have a look at Setanta Sports news as a refreshing option.

Refused to pay the additional subscription fee to Setanta so won't be able to. I am sure SSN was refreshing when it first started but has degenerated to tabloid journalism.

Sky and Talk Sport are into the sensationalist crap to generate interest but if you would like more realistic reports as to what is going on then there is always BBC five live at half past every hour. They were the only ones that were spot on about Woodgate yesterday.

Am I right in saying the following?

Sky own a large stake in ITV.
ITV own a large stake in Arsenal.
Hence Sky are inevitably going to be a bunch of pricks. Especially to us.

Or are my conspiracy theories a pile of poo?

And in SSN's case, juicy gossip read by hot women...

All they need to do is get rid of the bloke half and their tops. Two topless women presenters would rule the world. I would be lost forever. They could talk as much guff as they liked, 24 hours a day.
