Declined from what exactly?
MP in over his head? Based on what? His 5 games?
Do you know how irrational and impatient you sound?

Declined from a team I used to love to see play each and every weekend to a squad I neither enjoy watching nor feel any kind of connection with.

The questions don't help : "how important is it to win this game?"
Absolutely. The stupid, often leading questions that are asked and the total overanalysis of football as a whole by the media means that managers and players are often stuck for anything original to say. Added to that, a lot of players are probably scared to say anything outside of a few safe cliches for fear of being misquoted. I don't blame them but it always amuses me when one listens to a football manager or player being interviewed and afterwards everyone goes on about what a 'fascinating interview' it was. What a load of bollocks.

It's not my reality. And it's just another negative thread. Why don't we just have a thread called dump negative shit in here. People can rant all they want in there. Positive people who want to give the team a chance arent welcome. This has to be about the 30th thread created pretty much saying the same thing. I'm bored of it. We are 5 games In for fucks sake.
I thought we did have a no-comeback thread set up so that people can post whatever they want without being criticized?

It does sound impatient but also, I don't buy this 'theory' being put about by some people that Poch is 'upset' or 'showing negative body language' or 'in a huff' over the signings. This is not a post defending Levy or ENIC before the anti contingent get worked up and I don't profess to have any knowledge whatsoever of what goes on behind the scenes at Tottenham but I really don't think that Pochettino was under any illusions about who he had to work with when he agreed to become the new Tottenham Head Coach. I've no doubt that he wants his philosophy implemented by the players straightaway, if not sooner and if he is showing any signs of frustration it's because he wants to be winning games and climbing the league table. He knows this will take time as much as we do.

I'm not sure any manager would make a difference to this squad. Even mourinho would struggle.

Thing is, if by some stroke of luck we beat arsenal today then the positivity will be overwhelming on here.

I have read through most of the posts. Its an interesting thread. Lots of different opinions as to be expected. The thing that seems to be agreed is that the current team lacks leadership and commitment.
I've supported Spurs since 1959, don't get to games now, but obviously watch. There was a time when I was disinterested in Spurs, maybe about the Sugar/Venables era, can't remember. For me Spurs have always had a hero, a talisman, who could lift the team and fans, or someone with grit and determination. Mackay, Greaves, Perryman, Mabbut, Gazza, Klinsman, Ardiles, Bale. There are others. We don't seem to have one player like that at the moment. Maybe Lloris. Maybe Bentaleb and Dier, but they probably feel its not their remit to galvanise senior and more experienced players. Verts, Ade, Dembele, Eriksen, Paulinho, Capoue...all seem scared of their own shadows. If we get hammered today I wouldn't be at all surprised that while we grieve, they'll be jollying around the golf course not a care in the world. I may be harsh in that assessment but there seems a disconnect between fans and players. And a few who would feel the pain (IMO) Dawson, Holtby, Sandro are no longer at the club. Lamela gets a nod from me. He plays not like a player with a £30M price tag, but like a youngster promoted from the juniors. I like that. Maybe he tries too hard at the moment.
So thats my twopenneth. I'd play Dier, Bentaleb, Mason, Lamela and Kane today.

And that's why it's absolutely vital the lads don't go in to the game with the same attitude as our "fans".

Crouch wasn't with us anymore. We had Adebayor and the picture would be even more depressing if he was there as well, knowing how good he was :(

Agreed. I think people are just inventing shit to be up in arms about because they have the strop on. I think he knew what he would have to work with and is doing so.

If he doesnt looked pissed when we play shit I would wonder why the fuck not.

The positivity would be akin to being stranded on a desert island and seeing an airliner fly past. Temporary elation then back to realising your still fucked.

Managers need to show real emotion.
