Slowly loosing confidence - starting to wobble. Weve been crap on the road especially in Europe. Have to hope Southampton have a shite day. Off the back of WHU win they will be up for this.

Both teams have had the same time between games, but we have a deeper squad. For example, we can swap in a number of players to freshen the team up (Davies, Ndombele, Winks, Dele, Bergwijn) and not have the massive drop in quality we’ve seen under other managers due to the system and patterns of play Conte has put in place. Plus Son, Kane, Højbjerg all came off early on Boxing Day (so I think they’ll start). Southampton rely on an aggressive press, and if they are not 100% on it they can get spanked, especially by highly effective counter attacking teams like us.

I personally think Southampton will try and change their tactics against us because they had a tough game away at West Ham on Sunday, and sit deeper. If Conte goes with an extra midfielder (e.g. Ndombele), I think we will really dominate them.

Is it just me or does this feel like a season defining game? Getting a first away win under Conte, taking advantage of one of our games in hand on Arsenal and just keeping the run going. I just feel this could be the moment where we start to really believe and, if we keep it going, sets us up nicely for the NLD.

So I guess the inevitable will happen and we will lose ?

Ah I was enjoying a nice period of only home games.

Still under Conte I think we'll be fine away from home. He have us set up in a way to deal with Southampton. We've played like a counter attack team lately and that suits an away side.

Yup. They drew with city so it will be tough but it depends how they try and play against us.
they will be tired as that was a big battle against a very very tired and injury hit West Ham.
these are the games we have to win and I’m sure conte will have us mentally right. COYS!!

In the black away kit today ⚫ Which I'm glad about as the purple one kind of reminds me of playing shit in the Europa Conference League

I think Conte was too. He made a point of saying how much he wants to make the new stadium a fortress and it seems we are doing well with that currently. It builds confidence to take with us on the road.

Today will be interesting. I think it is almost more important as to how southampton set up than us. If they try to set up with a high defensive line it could be a mistake if we take our chances. If they don't and play another midfielder in there and sit deeper it will be an interesting game. They have their strikers back fit although Broja has been playing well (and helping out my fantasy team) so will probably rotate up top.

I’m looking forward to this one. I love a Spurs breakaway goal exploiting a high press and can see a few chances being created.

We go on a good run, have a winnable game to cement us in a really good position………this is the type of opportunity we always seem to throw away, even in the peak Poch era.

Hopefully Conte Spurs are made of different stuff

I think we'll batter them on the counter.

Conte has had way more time to work with us since Everton away.

Son and Kane were deadly combination last time in this fixture.

I'm going 4-1

They play exactly the way that will suit that as well.

I was thinking this earlier, last few games we have really created a lot. Southampton are pretty soft at times, we are due to take someone to the cleaners. Hopefully today, they set up nice for us

We're creating more chances each game and better defensively than we were. Southampton play in a way that can allow us to hit them on the break. Should be a good game for the neutral.

People who are already mentally banking our 9 points in hand should bear in mind that all three matches are away.

It's highly unusual for any club to have played 10 home matches and 6 away matches, but that's where we are and it has given our points total an extra gloss.

None of the three opponents are mugs. They'll all give us challenging games. If we can collect 5-7 points from those matches, we will have done well.

Couldn’t agree more. I feel like I’ve been here so many times before. That’s why I really see this game as pivotal to our season.

I hate doing this to myself but win this, City beat Arsenal and we beat Watford and suddenly we are level with them with two games in hand going into the NLD.

Please for once let this play out how I want/need!!!

I'm still scarred from when we played them on New Years day 2020 and Kane did his hammy. Hoping for much better things today, think we're miles away from that team performance.

The fact this is an away games and manure drawing yesterday makes this such an important game.

What we have done so far under Conte has been great but need to translate that form into away games. This will be a test for conte and the players.

The importance of this game , a game we are expected to win, puts a lot of pressure on us. I feel we need to be all over this 100% anything less may not do if Southampton have a good day.
