Still seething at how we leave JWP on his todd for the opener, fkin Sunday morning stuff.

Lack of guile all round against 10, far too many gentle looping crosses and time wasted by sideways passing.

Baffled by the two disallowed goals though, if that’s Liverpool on the receiving end the media would be at it all week

Play our best team v Watford, that includes Skipp Hojberg and Lucas
I think Doherty or Tanganga instead of Reggie too. Not sure what's best re LWB, little part of me still thinks Davies
I thought they were drawing the lines to favor attackers this season. Still need to be a bit thicker in favor of attackers
Was a beautiful goal from our two Academy Harrys, so anti football it was chalked off
why would you play doherty instead of reggie?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't they (FA) say that when a player score a goal and its hard/impossible to see if its offside or not, the goal should stand? I think VAR robbed us.

But I also think we should do better.

It was impossible to see he was offside because it ducking wasn’t, absolutely robbed there

I know there’s a lot of knee jerking, myself included, but failing to beat a team who played with 10 men for 50 minutes is still unacceptable. Our away form is very, very worrying.

Winks was our most creative outlet. He was the one constantly putting the ball in the box and it was his passes that led to the penalty and Kane's offside goal.

We weren't at our best, but we (in my mind) did enough to win.

I will say I thought Conte got it wrong putting Doherty at LWB and not bringing on Skipp or Ndombele. And even when Bryan came on I thought go 4-2-4 against 10 men. Stick Doherty at RB, Put Bryan at LW alongside Lucas, Son and Kane.

What's done is done. Second game in 48 hours after the squad had covid. I won't be upset for long over it and understand that is football sometimes. Newcastle battered United and only drew 1-1. It happens.

Did you watch the game? Doherty got into some good positions. Forced what was a legitimate goal in my eyes and was denied another by a good save but yes let's scape goat him as usual.
@13VanDerBale13 isn’t scapegoating Doherty, he is just saying that today showed that we lack quality in areas and Doherty is a prime example of that.

Sure he got into some ok positions today but his technique and decision making are poor, if Robertson or James or Alonso or TAA had got into the positions he did they’d have come away with at least an assist or a goal.

Sure he got into some good positions today which is expect of a PL player who knows how to play wing back especially with loads of space against 10 men but Doherty also had 2 shots which he completely sliced awful technique, Gil was in and he took too long to put him in, his decision making is poor, his technique is poor, he has no pace, he can’t cross and he’s not near the level we need, that’s not scapegoating him it’s just the way it is.

Thinking back, I'm not sure creating chances was even necessarily the issue, our touch and finishing in the box was what was terrible.

With the way everyone assumes Kane is captain, you'd think he attempted coup over the summer succeeded.

Lost count the amount of times a player would receive a pass, look to move forward with the ball, only to leave the ball behind, or caught up under his feet.

Let's be honest, we're not at the level of Man City or Liverpool at present, we're going to have days like this.

Gutted, of course, define my being, like feck, it happens.

It's when I witness dross week on week that my interest wanes, at least with Conte, he's allowed me to get back to enjoying watching Spurs again, I'm not letting one missed opportunity spoil that as of yet.

For the record when we bought Doherty I posted that I was underwhelmed, I wasn't a fan and he's not convinced me otherwise but today I have got no complaints with him, he put in a shift and doesn't deserve some of the flack he's taking.

Not a great performance but have to say we were robbed there. Ref gives those goals and we win comfortably. There will be plenty of games like that where we don’t play well but scrape the 3 points. Disappointing but important to keep it context: we’ve come a long way in a short period of time. Onwards…
This exactly. We are not going to play great every time out. Games away to midtable on two days rest are often going to be a poor watch. A team with our ambition has to find a way to grind out an ugly way to get the points. Today we did, until they were taken away. Two really unfortunate decisions took us from "we pulled out 3 points in a potentially tricky fixture and the momentum is still rolling" to "no one is good enough".

Don't let a bad turn of luck fool you, something great is building here.

Christ- we weren’t great at breaking them down but we were almost always shit at this during the Pochettino era. I don’t hold much credence in Ndombele saving us today if he played. He’s inconsistent and besides, breaking through a parked bus requires more than one creative player. I’m sure Conte would have learnt much from today and if anything, it’s just another reminder that we need a few more quality signings to strengthen the squad and more work on how to break through teams that defend in numbers at great depth. This will take time

Come on that was a clear foul by Doherty, you can't anywhere on the pitch turn your back and jump at the player and especially not at the goalkeeper. This is a clear case of just wanting things not to go against your team, if that got given as a goal down the other end for someone challenging Lloris there'd be absolute outrage.

2 points dropped , will never understand why we have Ndombele on the bench and not use him in a game like this , we had 3 centre backs marking 1 player . Didn’t feel there was enough intensity until the last 10 minutes but when you’re relying on Winks to be your most creative player you’re asking for trouble .

The technical ability in our team is so far below what it should be. We need creative players who are comfortable on the ball. Shame we aren’t looking at any it seems.

Those four you mentioned would be playing in their natural position on their natural side.
