Makes you wonder if the players just didn't want to play for AVB
I suspect that AVB's set-up gave the players more opportunities to hide. In a five man midfield it's relatively easy to play within yourself and avoid risk. Playing two upfront forces the midfield to take more responsibility.

Let's be fair to AVB - He is crap, fed us with shit football and blamed the fans for not supporting the team.

I have not been jumping in front of my tv in excitement for a long long time. My wife thought i became more mature. She is so wrong

Funny, Spurs lost the possession stat, but won the game,.... I think we see a difference in management style/tactics here. Winning is important,... possession is not so important... just sayin'

You would have a point, if only the subs didnt turn out to be very good indeed. In which case you dont have a point.

Bentaleb and Chadli were very good, and Defoe did what you could reasonable expect of Defoe in the final minutes of a game
Playing russian roulette is not a good idea whether you shoot yourself or not so I'm not entirely sure what your point is?

Capoue or Hotlby should have come on for Soldado without any doubt whatsoever and the same could be said for Dembele. Bentaleb I can give you because he is a player that Sherwood knows very well but if we had started that game with a midfield of Bentaleb and Eriksen people on here would have been burning effigies of tim down the tottenham high road.

I never mentioned the Lamela for Chadli substitution because it was a good and sensible one.

Just got in, sounds like I missed a good game. Team selection looks fairly mental(!) but good to see a youngster getting a chance. Hopefully get some time to watch it later.

I suspect you wrote that post as soon as the sub was made and didnt watch it play out. Nothing wrong with the subs today.

Capoue or Holtby for Soldado would have been a complete rejigging of the formation, a forward for a midfielder is what cost us against West Ham.

It doesnt matter if it didnt 'seem' like the right sub. All that matters is that it was.

'I am not sure Tim Sherwood has enough experience to manager Tottenham permanently' says football expert/pundit Lily Savage.
Maybe not but at least has the balls to try and fail, unlike you.

So it's looking like 4-4-2 then, that's 2 CM slots for Holtby, Eriksson, Sandro, Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele and now Bentelab. Great win today, bit more solidarity needed in defence, now let's get that home form sorted please Timmy.

If Tim gets the job can see Carroll coming into the mix as well. Paulinho, holtby and capoue seem like they are gonna struggle to get a game
