I'm more surprised by the coaching technique. Imo there's too much focus on negativity and what the opposition are going to do, rather than what we are supposed to be doing. If you keep bringing up being done by pace, conceding goals, being bashed up, they can beat us, etc, etc, you're gonna make it happen like a self fulfilling prophecy.
I know JM.has won everything and I've coached a shite pub team and kids football but this is kind of shit they tell you to avoid on your Level 1. The players do not look impressed imo.
Yes probably lol but its a fairly well known in sports psychology that focusing on the negative is not a good way to go.Maybe the Level 1 is a load of old bollox then?
Yeah it does bring back how much shite JM has had to deal with but the squad is in this state because of 1 man and at the end of the day the buck stops with him. Joke really that Poch was sacked when the squad had been seriously underfunded.Oh man, that Super Jan pic as a gift from the team. ?
Not sure why people keep comparing it to The Last Dance in a negative way, by the way...
One was the story of one of world sports best ever careers and after the dust had settled (and a contender for the best sports doc of all time to date), while this is a very quick overview of a short period of time at a club that's very much in transition and when everyone is mid-career.
It is what it is and I'm not sure why so many here were hoping for car crash TV.
Some bits I loved, some bits I didn't, but I love where this club has been heading and I desperately hope we win something soon and get there. The ambition has been pretty clear. ??
It doesn’t end there...
??? Fantastic!! Almost like: «He really knows how to kick that ball, doesn’t he?”LEvy to Jose on Winks: "He must run a lot..." (nodding)
wtf.
My favourite moment:
Apologies if posted before, been avoiding this thread until I got through the whole thing.
Watching the episode again where Sacremento and Mourinho are talking about the team (Ep 1) and I was concentrating a bit more on their talk about Kane being a silent leader, the team being too nice etc.
I'm by no means fluent in another language, but I know some French and Spanish, and I would have expected they would talk in Portuguese, but it sounds like they're talking together in French? Thought that was a bit unusual.
I just skipped through the episode to that bit out of interest (yes I'm bored). They're 100% speaking Portuguese.
Interesting. I don't know much Portuguese other than Bom Dia, but it sounded like a very feminine language like French (ending in softer "ehh" sounds rather than what I assumed would be more masculine in Portuguese "ohh" sounds )
Either way, like I say I'm absolutely certain that they're speaking Portuguese. You're more that welcome to disagree though if you like
Picked the wrong season, didn't they? Would love to have a part 2 to look forward to next summer.
