The Athletic are reporting that Tottenham's anticipated capture of Pedro Porro has collapsed. According to reporter David Ornstein, the move, which had appeared to be moving towards a successful outcome, 'is off after Sporting Lisbon reneged on terms of proposed deal.'

The player is described as being 'distraught'.

I just get the impression that clubs know what a tight arse Levy is and consequently take great pleasure in dicking him (and us) around as a result. Whoever is negotiating this deal for us will have been in constant contact with someone at this end and it has all the hallmarks of a Levy special to me. I think it will get done but not before they've given Levy's balls a proper hard squeeze.

Reckon it has something to do with Bellerin (to Sporting as Porros replacement) deal? Think it will still go through.

It’s OK - apparently we have moved on to Hincapie instead now and have offered 22m when his club value him at 88m. Danny boy is on the case.

Clubs know what pressure Levy is under from Conte and the fans, so they are going to try to take advantage. It was very likely there would be last minute hitches.

Leverkusen value him at €88m!!!? He’s only valued at €25m on Transfermarkt.

Yeah, I agree that he isn’t worth anywhere near that figure but that’s what I’ve been reading. Still reckon he is probably worth a good bit more than 22m at the same time. Low balling as usual.

To sum up our window so far: Danjuma to be abused by Everton fans for the rest of his life. Zaniolo calling the cops to stop himself being assaulted in his own home for wanting to leave. Porro's life in limbo, relationship with Sporting turned toxic.

It being 30th January probably adds at least 20% onto the asking price.
