Going to give this a blast now.

Drogba up front. Rio at the back. Bring it on!

EDIT : D'oh!

That was very hard but pleased with my squad. I recommend if you are struggling go for swiss defenders, cheap as, and last world cup let in no goals.

I've proper struggled trying to accomodate my strikers.

Tough choice leaving one of Villa, Fabiano, Forlan or Milito on the bench. Will no doubt change it around closer to the time.

we cant change formations?

Yes. Just put the sub in the place of another player in a different position. For example, put on David Villa in place of Carlos Puyol, and the formation will change accordingly.

The money you get is ridiculous. Should be made to make far tougher choices than this.

Here's my planned first team, for example:

Buffon
Alves Puyol Chiellini Lahm
Lennon Sneijder Nani
Messi Fabiano Villa

With King, Mertesacker, Dos Santos, Di Maria all on the bench.

This seems a bit confusing - you buy 23 players but can only play 11 in each round. What's the point in that?

Maybe because you may wish to change the team between rounds? I certainly will. My team is filled with a couple of wildcards which will sit out this round until I see potential for a massive impact in the world cup, while I also have a stable amount of performers on who you would think would produce a solid amount of points

...they've over-complicated it. I've just read the rules and you can make substitutions as each round progresses. So for instance, if you pick Rooney in your first XI and he scores one point, if you have Bendtner on the bench, and he's playing the day after, you can take the risk and swap them, hoping that Bendtner will score more points.

They're also awarding points for delivering balls into the penalty area, and taking them away for fouls committed and the like.

My XI:

____________Buffon__________

G Johnson_Vidic__Juan__Mokoena

Elano______Di Maria____Sneijder

Klose______Higuain______Torres

Seems like getting high points in this competition is going to require lots of changes. Don't think I will have that much time during the WC.

Dunno if i should choose torres or villa. Torres wil be fresh after injury but villa is guarenteed starter

Also Suaro or messi? Chile have an easier game and suazo is a goal machine

I would go Villa for Messi. Villa will score, and set up more goals then Torres in this World cup and you can put me on the line with that. Otherwise I would play Messi over Suazo. Mostly because Suazo could be special in this tournament or equally be disapointing, having watched Honduras play against the USA (where they should of won) I also don't think they would be as easy as people make out. And if they press Chile's midfield they might be able to unstablise Chile's passing game, and actually win that game. Alternitavily Chile could really be something special this world cup. Certainly one of the more intresting teams in the compition.
